You know I'm an armchair fan so take my views with a bucket of salt, but.... last year we had Moses on one side, Cox on the other. Different styles but both very dangerous and both good providers, things happened as a result. Now we have only one dangerous side and the opponents know that, all they have to do is stop Cox and we're left with little else but hoof ball to Henderson. ISTM that we are missing Moses much more than we care to admit in public and we're not going to get very far if we lack a right side danger at least comparable with him. Is Simpson able to provide an answer or an alternative? Russell's future here may depend on it.

As I said its when Slade departs not if. It will be a clean sweep so Nugent and Dearden will go also, I would say the next Orient manager will be Italian.

Milano, you must have a good view from your armchair because that's about right. I do think though that mcanuff can do the job if he is encouraged to stay wide and stop drifting in.

Just because you've got one Italian Chairman in the Football League who has a track record of sacking managers, doesn't mean our guy is going to be the same. He is after all new to owning a football club and he might surprise us all and give Slade a decent chance to get the team back to winning ways. Unlike Leeds chairman, our guy hasn't gone out of his way to court publicity, has kept the existing manager in place and allowed him to bring in players he wanted, to build on last year. Nobody knows what his agenda is, but it is probably a fair guess to say that he expects us to go one better than last year. Like all football managers, Slade will be judged on results, but at this point in time we are only 4pts off of auto promotion, so I think it's much too early to be talking of change. I'm guessing too, but if we are mid table or below by the end of October, then the pressure will really be on, but I'm sure Slade would be the first to admit that that wouldn't be good enough for him as well.
