Slade has one game to save his job: reportsQuote: The 53-year-old revealed after this afternoon's defeat to Colchester United he had been informed by sporting director Milanese he will be sacked by Becchetti if the O's do not get a satisfactory result at Notts County on Tuesday.
Asked to confirm whether the ultimatum related directly to his future at Brisbane Road, Slade said: “Yes, in terms of my future. Obviously it is not a great result for the football club

Bloody hell. Read the link. Brings a tear to your eye. Not the best start to the season but we have been there before. Slade must be given more time especially after this warning - I hope it is just a warning!!

So if we win on Tuesday he stays but for how long ? I think this shows that Becchetti wants him out.

Simpson had 2 very good chances today and fluffed them. Mooney needs to be dropped and McAnuff i haven't made my mind up yet but he needs more game time.

This making Becchetti look like a petulant child throwing his Lego out after not getting instant gratification.
How dare he treat the best manager we've had in decades like this. After all the trauma and upheaval we've had over the last few months this is going to take time to get back on track. The team is pretty much starting over and Russ has hardly been given carte Blanche with the chequebook.
Looks like another mega wealthy club owner who really doesn't get football.

It would be very interesting, sometime in the future, to get Slade's retrospective on the last couple of months.
I will be very sorry to see Slade go (and if he doesn't this time, then he will next) both for what he's done for us and because it means we are joining the "sack 'em after a few games" circus and there is no guarantee the next candidate will do better. However, from the start Slade has appeared very uncomfortable in his new subordinate role and who can blame him. He'll be relieved to depart. He'll get a decent payoff, can easily get another job, this time up north closer to his family, and very likely without the totally insane pressure our new looney management has brought to bear.

I think it's a shame really as in all my Years been an Orient fan Slade has been the best Manager by a Country mile
2 seventh places 1 play off final good FA Cup run and now Mr Waste Management and his binmen are threatening to sack him after 6 games? absolute nonsense in my eyes I'm not a fan of this Italian set up at all and if Slade was to depart and Orient did employ Di Canio then I'm afraid i wouldn't go as I can't justify an out and out racist managing the team I love it's worse than the tits and fanny song as far as I'm concerned

1 good season under slade, hes wasted loads of money signing a load of crap this summer. he NEVER has a paln 'B' when things are going wrong. i like russ, but hes taken us as far as he can.. even if win go on a winning run, as soon as we lose again his job will be in question.. better to get a new man in sooner rather than later... my money's on an eyetie getting the job. just hope it aint de-canio,

So we potentially become another team that sacks managers willy nilly if they don't get results quickly there's no guarantee that a new manager would do any better
And as for the wasting money quote Orient haven't actually signed anyone for a fee ok the wages for the new players might be higher than usual but maybe these new players should start showing us why they merit the high wages because so far apart from Woods they have all been utter tosh

Scapegoating is not problem-solving, never has been and sacking a scapegoat can be the cause of further problems because it stops those who should do so from looking any further into the issue. I mean this whether it is a Government minister, a company head or a football manager. It's a short-term, hi-visibility dramatic action. Slade should be reviewed over a longer period, yes we've had a bad start, yes last year's start makes this one look worse but...why is no-one wondering why the expanded team (with faces I am yet to easily recognise) hasn't "gelled" yet? ....why is no-one commenting on the lack of "substance" rather than bodies to cover injuries? One thing I did notice in our games last year was we did best when we had 11 from the same 13 or 14 on the pitch - this lot don't react well to changes and this season there have been loads.
As for thoughts of Di Canio .....!!!

Said it before and I'll say it again, this owner and his Italian staff will bring seasons of disruption to this little club of ours before they pee off back home again.

How would you feel if you were an Orient player last season giving your all and this season a handful of players come into the team on alleged twice your salary who can't play 90 mins because they are not fit. If it was me,I might feel a bit upset and sub-consciously not be giving my all this season.

It was the players on the pitch who couldn't string a pass between the 11 of them should we sack them to do we actually know if Slade still gets to pick the team anymore or is that the job of fake tan Milanese as Maylands said expect lots of disruption with these Italian numptys who haven't got a clue about football don't forget Reading and Birmingham turned this lot down and I would think the players on lower wages from last season who let's not forget did remarkably well against all the odds are feeling a little used and abused with the utter tosh that are getting the higher wages at the moment it's a complete slap in the face as far as I'm concerned Simpson not seen anything that gets me out of my seat McAnuff seems to have one trick cutting in no strength gets knocked off the ball to easily rubbish at set pieces and corners Lowry utter tosh so far Elliot and Sawyer much better in that position Henderson good in the air wins a lot of balls that way his holding his ok but his final pass or decision to have a pot at goal is 9 times out if 10 pony Pritchard. Does a lot of huffing and puffing gets robbed to easily and his dispatch/ passing is pretty awful Ledgzins Dodgy keeper in my eyes kicking awful dispatch disgraceful and can't seem to catch a ball Woods for me the only decent signing he should be no1 keeper commands the back line well can catch dispatches well gets the game moving quickly
