I've just watched the full clip on player for the post-match interview, I read (somewhere last night, read lots of bits) something about unknown background issues that could be going on - I thought Slade's interview was quite interesting with that in mind as there seemed to me to be a lot more behind his voice and tone that was remaining unsaid. He sounded professional, discreet and gentlemanly as he always does but I felt there was a lot being bitten back.

While it's still relatively early days, Slade's new recruits have - for whatever reason - by and large not come off. Maybe they will eventually, maybe Slade didn't have time in the summer to get in people he really wanted, or maybe he just couldn't handle it when finally given money to spend. He's not quite history yet, but it seems inevitable and has done right from the start.

It is a though time, especially after the horrible match yesterday. And I'm gutted to read all this personal opinions, whining and racism from the O's fans. Some wants to blame it on the tactics - indirect pointing to Slade, others are more hateful on the Italians. All in all, everyone is shouting for a change.
Yesterday I was frustrated when I heard Slade had one match to "sort it out" - stating on Twitter that I am disappointed the Italian doesn't have bigger balls. A little harsh maybe, but as everyone else I found someone to blame, and in the short term it was easy to point my finger on him. Easily because he doesn't look interested in how we work as a unit, he wants to see results - not how Leyton Orient football club was back in the Heard time when we tumbled every rock to find new ways, how to maximize our current situation.
This morning I stumble more on the question,"what have went wrong?" "Why are we just above the relegation-line?" "We should be in the top, shouting #RiseAgain" Then I realize we need to look at the big picture, and point the finger on ourselves, on Slade, on the team and FB. In our current situation none of us are satisfied and we all should look in the mirror and look for improvement. Slade have done some mistakes, most of the players in the squad have not performed 100% and I could hear the fear, the frustration from every single player. We as supporters do have high expectations after the stunning season and from what Ive read here and heard on the player, we are not supporting them, we are always whining when we are not getting 3 points. And last but not at least FB have done his mistakes.
As a single Leyton Orient supporter located in cold frozy Norway, I do have my opinions, but I guess there is so many factors involved that I do not have enough insight to locate my finger on the bleeding wounds. Yes, we are wounded and we all know it. Who is responsible? I don't care. The other teams are shooting at us and we discuss who tho blame? Let's just patch up and prepare for Tuesday, when we as a unit shall rise. It will be though, since we are badly hurt, but my job is to support Leyton Orient and I will keep doing it.

I think it's a shame really as in all my Years been an Orient fan Slade has been the best Manager by a Country mile 2 seventh places 1 play off final good FA Cup run and now Mr Waste Management and his binmen are threatening to sack him after 6 games? absolute nonsense in my eyes I'm not a fan of this Italian set up at all and if Slade was to depart and Orient did employ Di Canio then I'm afraid i wouldn't go as I can't justify an out and out racist managing the team I love it's worse than the tits and fanny song as far as I'm concerned Respect for you LexiO, I support your opinions. Totally agree on most of your arguments and I do feel the same, I'm very concerned and hope for all sake that Slade can sort this thing out ( even tho I feel his future is in other hands, out of his control)

As a distant observer I'm disappointed to read that Slade is so close to the exit door and astonished that most Orient fans seem to think it a good thing. It's rotten luck for him that this season's poor start has coincided with the new owner, I'd imagine even ten points adrift at the bottom and Barry Hearne would have stood by him. However, I can find no mention of Paolo Di Canio's name being linked except on here; but if you get him I envy you. In over fifty years supporting my team I've never been more invigorated by any manager, though he was only with us for 13 matches. He was treated appallingly by SAFC and Short's failure to support him against the pampered players set a dreadful precedent. If he arrives with his loyal backroom team and is given time to build the squad as he'd wish you will have a wonderful whirlwind of a time, with Championship football into the bargain. Oh, and by the way, Di Canio might have some views that many would find somewhat distasteful but they don't impact on his football management except in positive ways and he is NOT a racist.

From day one Russell has not been over enamoured with the new owner. Remember his remarks about the Sporting Director and another after the Villa game when RS said "nobody from the owners to see the team win". He has been very diplomatic in his comments about the owner and the structure but I feel that he would not be too upset to get a pay off and move back with his wife and family. I am sure if he departs he will very soon be appointed in charge of a Championship Club.
I have considered the situation over this week-end I think the "Sporting Director" will be given the managers responsibility for at least the next months and if successful longer - why else would have Becchetti have asked him to join the club for a roll that was not needed? He could well succeed if the team started to gel - if not Becchetti will then look around.

So we potentially become another team that sacks managers willy nilly if they don't get results quickly there's no guarantee that a new manager would do any better And as for the wasting money quote Orient haven't actually signed anyone for a fee ok the wages for the new players might be higher than usual but maybe these new players should start showing us why they merit the high wages because so far apart from Woods they have all been utter tosh I couldn't agree more Lexi O. It seems to me there was always some hidden agenda behind FB's takeover.I think he always wanted an Italian manager! The new players apart from Woods, whom I've only seen once,'should have started earning their wages a long time ago, they just do not look interested and still unfit! Russ is in a no win situation,so I say so long and good luck in your new job.

Di Canio bought the League 2 title with by far the biggest budget in that division, so I don't think that means he's a good manager. Think he's too divisive to be a long term solution.
Just feel that by Slade bringing this out into the open, he is forcing the owners hand. I think Slade would be quite happy to get the sack whilst his reputation is still intact from last season and people can believe he wasn't given enough time to bed in a new team. He wants to move back north to be with his family IMO and he'll get a decent pay off to tide him over until the pre Christmas round of sackings start and he gets another job.

Agree with this.A calculated move by Slade, however, I do believe that he has affection for the Orient, but he knows the situation and has got in the first blow.It doesnt matter how Slade does from now on, he has burnt his boats with that post match statement
