I agree 100% putting nugent in charge is the cheap option and shows no ambition at all .whats the betting nugent will be fired before the seasons end .very disappointing . |

Nugent's got no managerial track record so it'd be a surprise if he gets the job - and maybe even a bigger surprise if he's a success.

Well Nugent certainly impressed against Rochdale last weekend, at least for 45 mins. Maybe we can stop games at half time and make sure the other team has no-one sent off?  |

He played the best 11 against Rochdale .dropped Clarke and mooney .it all went well and then they kicked off .and all went too s*** .nugent is a good coach but as a manager he hasn't got it .or maybe he is a yes man and that's what the chairman wants .and he is the cheap option . |

Hang on, Nuge has not been appointed as manager, this is not Slade's replacement. It seems Nuge has merely been appointed to a job similar to the role he already had.

Milano the role of manager as we know it has gone - Head Coach is the new manager without most of the responsibility for running a lot of the aspects of the club as Slade did, I guess these will now be mainly the responsibility of Milanese.
Looks like Andy Edwards is being lined up as Assistant Head Coach.

I agree Harryo. Despite that, people are falling over themselves throughout the social media world trying to say how much they approve/disapprove of Kevin's appointment. Many people are claiming it to show a lack investment or low expectations by taking "the cheap option" whereas this move to appoint Kevin as head coach demonstrates nothing of the kind. I'm sure you are right, Kevin will be leading training and the day to day footballing activities, no doubt he'll have an input into the on-field strategy and tactics and new targets/loans etc., but he won't have the last word.

Looks like Andy Edwards is being lined up as Assistant Head Coach. That`s the problem for me. I am happy for Nugent, but I think he should appoint an experienced Assistant Head Coach to work with him. It can help the new HC, and it can help the players. Nugent as HC will bring continuity, but it might be a good idea to bring in a new assistant coach with some new ideas as well. |

Well, assuming he does get the job, I am really pleased for him, hope that he will be given time and that things go well. No matter who takes over, however exalted, we are not guaranteed success. And if things don't go well, he will be replaced. There'll be no hanging around waiting 3½ years for his contract to run down like BH did with Tommy Taylor.
