I'd keep him if at all possible as he's one of our best players, he's only just signed a new contract and we're no longer in a position where we need to grab a quick profit. But if he starts creating, the club's (still) in turmoil and we look as if we could be going down, then it wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world to see him go.

Agree in principle (for his benefit) .....and then - apart from losing him on the pitch - I see a pic of him with some kid (or see him take multiple interruptions in warm up for pics) and I feel it summarises the feeling the club had about it and I desperately don't want that to end

I hope he stays. Not just for the considerable work he does in the pitch, but because he's a great ambassador for the club and the game in general. Case in point: A real role model for the youngsters.
