I haven't been watching Orient for too long I admit but I remember the seasons before and just after promotion seemed much noisier generally than they are now.
I think when they opened the new North stand the effect of spreading out the crowd didn't help as a bunch of noisy younger fans seemed to migrate over there (and luckily that annoying bloke with the drum - apologies if you post here).
However, this season in a few games - notably Coventry - the atmosphere was as good as I have heard it for ages.
My friend came for only the second time and said it was great - like watching Chelsea about 20 years ago.

I hate this preamble but.... some years ago (ugh!) I'm sure they had open microphones somewhere and replayed the noise of the crowd back via the PA system. Not so loud to be obvious but enough to add something. We reckoned a mic was stuck in the 'gangplank' camera cradle in the old west stand.

And the TV person / courier from ITV climbing up the ladder.
