He was 88 years old. According to a family spokesperson, Fakir died of heart failure with his family and friends by his side.

So sad to read this sad passing of one of my favourite cricketers, and he’s not much older than I am.
I remember meeting him with my son who was about 6 at the time along with the rest of the England cricket team. We duly purchased a miniature cricket bat and Graham signed the bat for my son, he took time to speak to him to be nice and make him feel like the centre of attention. When my son bought his current house it already had a purpose built man cave it in and that bat amongst the other memorabilia he collects has pride of place on one shelf.
He was one of our cricket greats and the game will be sadder by his early passing. RIP to a great.
