RIP Dame Maggie Smith. Michael Gambon who played professor Dumbledore died one year ago today. That’s a bit of a coincidence.

I never knew Maggie Smith was born in Ilford and she wasn’t strictly Scottish although her Mum came from Glasgow. She just spoke in a Scottish accent for her films. I always thought she was a Scot.

Fantastic talent, hugely underrated and writer of some tremendous country songs like “For the Good Times”, “ Me and Bobby McGhee” and “ Once More With Feeling”. He was a Rhodes scholar as well. Another great song he wrote is Sunday Morning Coming Down made famous by Johnny Cash. He flew a helicopter and landed it on Johnny Cash’s lawn to pitch the song to him.

There is a great video on YouTube of KK and Jerry Lee Lewis appearing together on stage. Two giants of music together.👍
