..and settled down a bit.. and deleted it from the Sky box.
During the game i thought we were good value for the draw. We weren't.
We put a fair amount of effort into the first-half and created a few chances but nothing really gilt-edged. Brentford were better on the ball, but didn't offer too much either. The goal just before half-time was a killer. Good strike. Maybe Eldin could've done a bit better.
Second-half was a non-event for the O's, even with Brentford down to 10 men. There was no real width and the front two looked a shadow of themselves in recent weeks.
So there you have it. We were beaten by a better team (in fact a much better team than i realised) over 90 minutes. We weren't particularly outplayed or out-muscled, just beaten by a great strike from good opposition.
We've played much better than this, Brentford must have too.
Where does that leave us? Probably playoffs, but we won't give up now. It'd be foolish with ten games to go. Wolves result yesterday is an indicator of the types of results you get at this time of the year.

I agree with all your points MungO but I could have told you watching it yesterday. I said on about 60 minutes that Orient weren't going to score today unless it was a wondergoal.
Someone should have told whoever wrote the Official report on the website because that was just embarassing.

Who wrote your match report btw!!!. you Dominated the whole game? ?. For once I have to agree with you brentford. 'The most undeserved defeat of the season' 'Orient put them under relentless pressure' 'Brentford scored against the run of play' 'Their red card elevated the atmosphere to new heights of intensity' Cringeworthy and I am embarassed for Orient - I thought they were above Pravda nonsense like this. Even the Chelsea match report from yesterday admits they were rubbish.

Now we have supporters talking with common sense rather than over the top bias. On our day we are as good as Brentford, wolves or anyone else in the division but over the course of a season we cannot compete. We have done a miraculous job to this point and I am sure we will continue to do so but we will not get automatic promotion. What we will get is promotion via the play offs. It is not a lottery, the best team will prevail and in this situation it will be Orient.

On a another matter why was the Donaldson header and the save by Jakupovic whistled down by the ref yesterday?
I was sat right in front of it and Donaldon certainly didn't commit any foul that I could see
And I do concur it should of been a penalty to Brentford late on and Clarke should of seen Red he tugged the guys shirt not once but twice
A bad Day at the office but we are still open for business for another 7 Weeks

We were of course well please with the result, thought the ref had a poor game though. Agree with most of your comments but really the ref was one of the best I have seen in our division. Except for the penalty decision against Clarke in favour of Brentwood probably should have been given. Apart from that which I accept was a big decision, I thought he kept up with the play (unusual in itself with some of the unfit refs we normally get) and with his assistants got almost everything right. You must accept brentfordfc that your team were very 'physical' and although you may get away with that with some refs I am sure you will not in a higher division.

Sure we have a few more games to prove it and the Wolves game will probably be the defining moment but I would hope Russ will start resting players as much as possible otherwise I can see us not making the finals.I think this defeat could take a lot of getting over.

I thought maybe a draw was a fair result, we certainly didnt deserve the win, but were never gonna score, fair play to Brentford for playing that well with 10 men. Personally didnt think the ref was too bad, the only thing he got wrong was the penalty that Brentford should've had. Donaldson I didnt see at the time, but watching it back, could easily have walked. I cant blame them for celebrating the way they did at the end either, massive result for them and we would've done the same. Mo had one of his worst games for us, and why Mooney went for that ridiculous chip instead of putting his foot through it first half I dont know...showboating for the cameras probably.
We should've changed tactics from the sending off and packed the midfield, we didnt and it cost us.
Think that was a must win game rather than mustn't lose...playoffs for me now, but the pressures off so you never know...
