I would prefer that Colchester rather than Shrimpers have a dip into National League. We can then have a dip in the sea next summer. Lets face it a day at Southend, the seafront with a trip up the pier, beer along the front, or Rossi ice cream anyway Roots Hall is better than the concrete structure by the A.12 Road.
Come on Shrimpers !!

Geographically Barrow and Grimsby for the drop please.
I can't bring myself to say that I'd like Sutton and Bromley promoted as I genuinely thought we would never play them again. And as much as it was exhilarating at Sutton when Bonne got his penalty I'd rather Torquay, Wrexham or Notts County come back up.
Ideally Aldershot and Barnet but that ain't happening.

No thanks to Bromley 2 trips and 2 defeats.

Yeah that second trip to Bromley is probably the closest I've got to losing it at a football match.

Grimsby 0-0 Tranmere
Strange league this season. Does that make our win there more creditable?

Barrow is a good base for a weekend away, you’ve got the Lake District and Piel Island there. I wouldn’t go there solely for the football especially if it’s a wet Tuesday night in January.
There’s some decent unspoilt pubs there as well and they still have a shipbuilding industry there, they build nuclear submarines there.

Another great win at top of National League last night. This time away at their big rivals Bromley.

Can’t say I’d be too disappointed if we didn’t have to do Barrow away next season.
Great fish & chips in Grimsby. Hope they stay up for that alone.

I remember the away trip to a midweek match against Barrow, 2 day trip including an early morning milk train in the morning. About 17/18 at the time, I know I enjoyed the trip but can't even remember the score !

Yeah that second trip to Bromley is probably the closest I've got to losing it at a football match. Only 20 minutes drive from down up the A21...But can’t stand them myself

Have the feeling that we will consign Southend to the National League when we play them 🤔 Can you imagine the years of hatred and recriminations if we did to Southend what we did to Oxford?

Have the feeling that we will consign Southend to the National League when we play them 🤔 Can you imagine the years of hatred and recriminations if we did to Southend what we did to Oxford? Being thinking about that prospect for many months and it’s not one I like. when we play them I want us to win, win big. But I don’t like the thought that it could be the game that sends them down. Hopefully by then they will be safe. If not, then gone. But I don’t want us to hammer the final nail in.
