Didn't start for Barnet.
Might be Barnet testing the waters for when Sarge's loan expires?

Didn't start for Barnet. Might be Barnet testing the waters for when Sarge's loan expires? And they’re winning

Was 0-1 when I checked. They were beating Dover which is no great shakes.

That surprises me I thought he was doing well there.

I suppose if they have one of their own that is equally as good.

Just a few days ago on Barnets Tuesdays game, Sam saved a penalty and from accounts played very well.

If you were going to do it in a game it would be against Dover

I feel for Sam. His Dad’s a good friend of mine and I’ve known Sam since he was a kid. He’s Orient through and through and dedicated. Wore our colours with pride, even used to go to Tesco’s in his O’s track suit when we first took him on. Does take every mistake and knock back to heart though.

Would love it if Sam developed into a top class keeper. But not only has he had to compete with others who perhaps may have been better, Now he has to compete with the less experienced Byrne who is thought of as good enough for our papa John’s team.
Not too sure what is wrong with his game that’s not fixable. Rarely commanding in the box, but that can be coached. He needs to move on, even if that’s into NL, on a permanent basis and rebuild from there.

Sergeant is now 24, I hope he makes it, but realistically I don't think it will happen for him with us.

By commanding I meant gobby. I like keepers who are the boss in the box. Organising their defence, shouting orders and so on. In the box they call the shots. Never felt Sam was comfortable with this. Allowed others to take charge, maybe intimidated by the seniors around him. Maybe wrong but that’s what it seemed like to me. interesting about being rooted to the line. Vigs like many keepers these days rarely come out too far, don’t know why. But it’s quite noticeable how attackers lawfully block that particular opportunity, especially at set plays. Keepers can’t just dash into an occupied space. The jostling at Barrow was really full on.

I think this aspect of Vigs is a definite downer, and something that possibly helps define him as essentially a League 2 keeper. On the face of it I don't understand why a keeper can't become more commanding, but what do I know. One thing about Sergeant is that he seemingly is never trusted to hold down a first team spot with us, and that can't be coincidental.
