Just wondered what people’s thoughts were on the Media. A few weeks ago we had the petrol shortage and now we are being told there will be shortages at Christmas. To my mind the papers and TV revel in this and make the situation worse, I know they have to report the news but for me they go way over the top. However if anyone is interested I have 300 frozen turkeys at a reasonable price🙈

Blow everything out of proportion and then blame everyone else. They should be investigated and brought to justice. That and social media are the current scourge of society

I too dislike the mainstream media for a plethora of reasons
They lie about so much, and they are owned in the main by billionaires, who live overseas and dont pay tax here, who use it to push forwards their agenda, not the news. The Mail and the Express have had so many racist headlines over the last few years, its sickening
There should be no bias, left or right in the media, they should report things as they are

The media is damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If they don’t report on issues in the supply chain, and little Johnny doesn’t get his plastic toy from China, there will always be someone who will complain that if they’d known about the problem they’d have bought his present earlier.(cue tearful kid standing next to mum on tv). We joined the local neighbourhood Facebook group as it was the only way to keep up to date with what was going on around us and all we seemed to get was people posting about where fuel was available, perpetuating the local panic and people complaining about dogs and their owners. My in laws keep forwarding Internet stories which they think are true, but which are blatant attempts to stoke up divisions in our society and they fall for them. Standards at the top have fallen and lying and misleading the public goes unpunished, so should we be surprised when the media joins the party?
