It's only taken me 3 Day's to realise that Orient kicked towards the South Stand second half on Saturday What was that all about? Did the booing come from the Ice Cream Stand the game before so they would be punished or was it a Suns out factor lets pee on the opposition goalie for the first 45 mins
Or did Slade completely forget where he was on Saturday
Well whatever it was it didn't work
Any thoughts people?

I noticed that too.
I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.
Not that it worked mind.....
Expect Slade to perform a voodo dance in the centre circle and sacrifice a goat next match.

Clipping the ball over the top for Mooney and Lisbie to run onto isn't working, (you need Batt upfront if you want to try that). We look so much better when the ball is being played to feet by Cox and James.
You also need the front 2 to be closing the oppo down when they have possession and for me the work ethic seems to have dropped off since Christmas.
I think the team was over performing for much of the season, buoyed along by the confidence of riding high. The defeats against Rotherham, Posh and Bristol City psychologically knocked the stuffing out of us and despite a decent run against some of the lower ranked clubs in the division, that swagger we had at the beginning of the season was lost.
Now I feel that the players no longer believe they can turn around a losing position, whereas earlier in the season they had no doubt.
Our record against the other teams in the top 6 isn't great, we've been good for most of the season at beating struggling teams. Now those struggling teams are rolling their socks up and battling for each point, so an O's team lacking confidence is hard pushed to get a result. All strikers have poor patches and Mooney especially is a confidence player. I can see him lying awake at night thinking, 'I wish I'd put my foot through that ball against Brentford'. I've always liked Lisbie, but he is not the player he was 6 months ago, let alone 12. Age, desire, injuries taking their toll? Not sure what it is, but I'd have him on the bench from now on and start with Batt and Mooney (drop him and his confidence will disappear entirely).
I'd also give Odubajo a rest for a couple of games and try Lasimant out. I'd persevere with Ness and see how he works with Vincelot, just to give James more of a break.
From now on Slade has to be preparing for the play-offs and getting a fully fit and eager squad ready for those games.
He set out this year with the objective of reaching the play-offs, well he's achieved that with games to spare, so well done to all involved. Now it's about using the remaining games to try and rediscover the form we've lost and the best combination of players for the 2 most important games of the season, so we can at least get to wembley and give ourselves another shot at promotion.
Up the O's.

Lisbie is not the player he was months ago, would drop. Him for either batt or dagnal but with the tactics we seem to be playing I'd use batt.

If we finish 3rd it's going to be Posh, or if someone else, then a team that's gone on a brilliant run. Finish 4th or 5th and it's likely to be Preston, as Rotherham are in the zone at the moment.
I think even with our indifferent form, we can beat Preston, so 4th or 5th doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. Biggest thing is to get to Wembley and then it's any ones game on the day.

I would play Batt and Dagnall.
At the start of the season, Mooney was one of the hardest workers in the team, constantly closing down defenders, dropping back into midfield to get the ball etc. He just cant do it now, he is completely knackered and needs rest.

Batt and Dagnall do something that Lisbie and Mooney don't and that's they hassle the back 4 when there trying to play it out we have scored twice with Dagnall doing this
I would give them a go they both have pace which defenders hate they both might not have the deft touch of Lisbie and the odd Mooney super strike but let's face it Mooney last scored against Colchestet Lisbie I can't actually recall
Both Batt and Dagnall are direct and I like that

the game I saw vs Oldham mooney is exhursted because we kept knocking long balls to him for him to chase, he's not in the Moses range where he can run all day, he needs it to he's feet, so I blame the long ball tactics for the drop of mooneys form

I have been moaning about our front 2 and whoever we choose arent on form and haven't been for weeks. Lisbie, mooney, dagnall, Simpson. None of em scoring. Batt is a threat off the bench that's is all, he isn't fit enough to start.
This has put pressure on the 2 in the middle of the park, they have worked their socks off. James looked knackered and vincelot suspended and carrying a knock anyway.
What slade did yesterday none of us thought of. He played only 1 of our misfiring 4 which meant our 2 most dangerous midfielders cox and odubajo could play further forward. It demonstrated a different way of playing and set us up to be even harder to beat. Even though we haven't played well the Last 6 weeks we have drawn quite a few and when we have lost it has only been by the odd goal.
The play off semis will be tight and changes like he made yesterday could be the difference between getting to wembley and not and even going up or not.
It should be us tipping our caps to mr slade rather than the other way around.
