Have Salford actually done anything to warrant them being favourites?
People were banging on about how they were going to fly up the Leagues but they seem to have hit a plateau in League 2.
It’s easy enough buying your way from pub league to the conference but climbing your way up the Football League system is far more expensive. Always thought that they would max out at League One like all the other vanity projects from the conference (Fleetwood, Burton etc.)

Used to manage betting shops and I suppose I was a compulsive gambler (horses only), I would often bet £300 on an odds on horses, and spend £15 on form books from curzon st shop when the wage of a bus driver was £16 a week. I used to clean up on 3 hunter chasers Freddie, baulking green, and Leyton orient who each started 1/2, or 1/3 and run up winning sequences of about 10 each. Used to get some good information as several top trainers bet with my firm. When I left that scene , and after a few losses I stopped betting and switched to day trading on stock exchange. I was about £20,000 up but suffered a bad loss on Dixon’s share price , but still ended up about £12,000 up. My wife then ordered me to quit as she was sick of Bloomberg channel being on 24/7. These days I only bet on football and boxing and rarely bet over £100. Trust me big gambling is for mugs, that’s why all the bookmakers are wealthy. Have had each way nibbles on Orient at 20/1, 18/1.

I saw the Romford track on the tele a couple of days ago, it now has only one stand, the west one London side. The rest of the place is surrounded by wooden fencing.
I remember from the 70's a top dog called ? Jack, Mullagh Jack maybe, something like that. Anyone remember?

Same here, I'd take 40-45 quid with me and nothing else. I was prepared to lose the lot considering that's the price for a night out. I think that's a good way to go about it because I'd already lost whatever I was ever gonna lose, anything else was a bonus. I always used to bet on the dogs that had a poo.
