Will the club last that long? hope so,need to see more Second city teams in the top league. I remember when the wonder kid Trevor Francis played for them at Brisbane Road.

Could you see then how good was/going to be? I thought we would bring him down to earth, but that did not happen. He was spectacularly good.I did notice he used his arms stretched out a little for balance as Stanley Mathews pictures I saw in the big book of Football Champions.

If I remember rightly, and these days I can hardly remember last week, we were six games without letting in a goal and so were Birmingham (or some such). We lost 0-1 and Francis scored.

Surprised as he’s done well at Sunderland who are much bigger club than Stoke.

Tony “ Laugh A Decade” Mowbray being strongly tipped to take over the role as Sunderland manager. Alex Neil interesting comments on the Sunderland fans forum. He insisted on a 12 month contract. Never bought a property in the area. Used Sunderland as a job advert site. Was rewarded with 2 pay rises while manager. Strikes me as a gun for hire type manager freelancer, opportunitist. Well can you blame him with such a cut throat results business? Hartlepool supremo Stelling calling him disrespectful towards Sunderland. Remember on Soccer Saturday he called for a Pools manager to be sacked after a particular bad result for his team in the National league.

As you say , it’s a cutthroat business and I guess Manager’s like Neil have learned the hard way that potentially you’re only as good as your last half dozen results and therefore they look out for themselves. PS : I’m not aware of the Jeff Stelling incident you refer to - tell us more!👍

Scott Parker sacked by AFC Bournemouth following their trouncing at Liverpool. Despite the result , still seems a bit premature to me.😕😮

He was sacked as he wanted better and more players which the owner disagrees with. Sacked for sustainability reasons.
