RW just signed a new contract so, even if he wanted to go, it would cost Blackpool a fortune. IF they want him. IF he wants to go, money won’t be an issue. Lots of IFs. His new contract will contain a buy out clause aka Slade. Routine and likely to be less than his wages over the contract period. £100k sort of figure. A small sum compared to Blackpool losses of income if they got relegated. £ is not the issue. This situation has nothing to do with money and everything to do with what Blackpool and RW wants. IF they make an approach and that is a mega IF given the Candidates out there with perhaps Championship experience, then does he really want to go? Nothing to lose if he goes. If we go up, he claims the credit. If we don’t it shows just how good he was compared to whoever takes over. Win win for RW. Great place to be. But let’s hope it doesn’t happen. I think this is pie in the sky stuff. Richie is going nowhere. Muck raking is just a distraction that we do not need.

I think we all need a dose of reality. Players and managers first priority is to their career and providing for their family. In fact for most of us that is why we work. It is absolute delusion to feel people would compromise their future because they feel loyal to an employer if a great opportunity arose. Nor do I believe decent employers would stand in the way of an employee who has given lots to the business. Respect happens in business in my experience. As do a-holes and I don’t believe they exist at Orient.
If a mega opportunity arose for RW, then he may be interested and Travis would not stand in his way. Just accepting the compensation . Orient are employers, that’s it. For RW it’s a stepping stone in his quest to reach the best level he can be. That’s unlikely to be with us.
But only RW can decide, should an opportunity arise, whether it suits his career progression. Short term thinking is not always right and I doubt his style. So whilst he is with us and it suits him and the club we benefit from his talent and ambition.
But any thoughts that players or other staff stay with us because we are “Orient” needs to think again. It’s only us mug fans that stick around for good or bad. In reality that’s how it works.

Jimmy Hill and George Eastham were the pathfinders for todays Pro players to reap the rewards of their endeavours. Likewise the managers employ agents/lawyers to arrange contracts. The down side with managers contracts is that it would appear it pays to fail with generous pay offs for termination of contracts. Welcome to the modern game.

The modern world. I know a few CEOs who have done very nicely for failure. 😡

Seems as though FGR had a contingency plan in place! Well Everton must be having a clear out Big Dunc had toffees sewn into trouser pockets. I wonder how he will cope as I'm sure he is a Steak and Chips man at heart.

Yes he could have withdrawal symptoms if meat is off the menu. I wonder how he will cope with cold Turkey. I wouldn't want to be in FGR dressing room if they lose games when he is in charge. This of course is pure conjecture, pie in the sky stuff I bet they had to flesh out a deal without a Mac D in sight.

Kevin Betsy was his assistant there. He has had a torrid 6 months. Sacked at crawly and now at Wigan. Payouts must be decent on the bright side

Seems as though FGR had a contingency plan in place! I think he has an endangered species around his neck - it looks like a Patagonian Civet. Has London Zoo done a feline stocktake recently?
