Orient should award supporters such as you a free lunch every season. The over 70s club. I'm all in favour of that, just scrape in. I'm in ,but they would have to ask me proof of my age.

The idea of supporters of over 70 years being invited for a free meal goes down well with me but I already enjoyed that privilege when I was a guest of Barry Hearn in the boardroom for a league cup match against Luton. Naturally I was suited and booted and both prior to the game , half time and full time I was enjoying drinks with the Luton chairman and one of the directors. At half time I remarked that I was impressed with their young centre half Curtis ( his surname escapes me) . Interestingly he was sold to Aston Villa shortly after and went straight into their first team. Anyway, as they were about to leave the chairman and director thanked me for my hospitality, obviously thinking I was an orient director to which I replied that he was very welcome and I was sure that they would reciprocate in kind when we hopefully meet in the league, by us going up not them coming down. The chairman said, “Mickey you don’t have to wait till then , you would be a welcome guest at Luton anytime, here’s my card, give me a call”. I then related the events to Barry Hearn who said “ it’s more than the thanks I got, not so much as an acknowledgment “. What a lovely story and I would guess the centre half you’re referring to is Curtis Davies? If so he did actually move to West Bromwich for a couple of years before he went to Villa!

Paddy, that’s right it was Curtis Davis and he did indeed move to w.b.a not Villa .

What's the one that starts DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAA - DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAA ?
That's probably my favourite, also the old British Airways advert, I liked that one.
I saw ELO do 'Roll over Beethoven' at Wembley in the late 70's, does that count?

That is Beethoven's 5th.The opening chords represent fate knocking at the door.Symphony No 8 comes before the mighty 9th,considered as the ultimate in music.I saw that and Beethoven's piano concert No5 (The Emperor) at the Royal Albert Hall, it was the best experience I have ever known in my life. I also love roll over Beethoven, roll over Shostakovich would not sound the same.Just try some classical music, you may be surprised how good it can be for you. I have just played Mike Naimiths Rio and enjoyed that in the extreme.I love all music, classical first and folk songs. Did you know even Michael Jackson recorded Lavender Blue dilly dilly? The music you heard from the British Airways advert was the flower song duet from Delibes opera Lakme.

I've got a CD of classical music. I've always liked it, not all of it, but defo the famous ones. Talking about folk songs, I was mad on Lindisfarne (maybe not the folk songs you're talking about) back in the day. I was talking to Alan Hull (lead singer RIP) outside of the Victoria Palace in the 80's, he took the pee out of my accent.

As I’ve been watching the os for 71 years I guess that makes me one of the Orients oldest ( longest) supporters.. I’m 6ft2in ,does that make me the longest 🤪 6ft 4in here .but certain there are longer.

My username comes from my immediate reaction when Ian Hendon used to try and think. Not often mind but the “omygawd” was realising I was in mortal danger in the old east side enclosure when he tried to play a long ball down the line.

Umar Gul played for Pakistan and was a great bowler.
