Now that we’re almost a quarter of the way through the season, I thought I’d put it to the board: what would it take for you to look back on this season and say “yeah, I think the O’s had a good season there”?
I’d imagine most of us are targeting promotion, but would anything less be a failure?
Personally, I’d be satisfied with the season ending in a play off campaign. Even if unsuccessful in the end, sure I’d be disappointed, but a few days later I think I’d look back on the season as a success overall. It’d show continued progression and give KJ something to build on next season, hopefully with a more settled squad.
I’m basing that on us being in and around the playoffs for most of the season. If we just bump along in mud table and somehow managed to sneak in on the last day, I wouldn’t look at it quite so positively. Unless we proceeded to go on and win them of course!

Auto promo would be beyond my expectations , promo through the playoffs would probably be the least most people would expect from KJ . For me with this squad 7or 8th with some decent football would be a good season .

While I don't necessarily expect promotion I do expect us to be competitive all season and would be disappointed to fall short of the playoffs. If, at the end of the season, we look to have built a strong side for next season, that might be acceptable, but so much can change and "tomorrow might never come".
From where we are now I think KJ would expect at least the playoffs this season.

Anything less a disappointment, higher would be a great season.

Playoffs. Promotion would be lovely but anything less than playoffs would be a disappointment for me.

A good season would be if we win more than we lose or draw. If that did not bring promotion in any form it would also be a disappointing season.

The old heads are needing help from experienced heads but we haven't got them . To be a top team we need more than one maybe 2) players to supply the forwards with the passes they need . So don't feel too down I'm sure KJ will get it right sooner or later . |

I think you could be right .Also Young and Popadopalous and Nykramha could all come good with another season . Supporters should learn to temper their expectations ! |

Our expectations are being driven by the Board. If ambitions were low we would have kept Ross/Jobi. The appointment of KJ raised the bar along with our expectations. |

Meanwhile newly promoted Sutton, run on a shoestring budget with a small ground and low attendances and with players recruited from non EFL clubs, go above the Os and they have a chance of moving into the top three if they win their game in hand.

Expectations need to be lowered dramatically when you look at the squad. Not only have we taken a chance with some of our signings, but also hoping that our youth are up to the task.
A playoff spot would make for a good season imho
