Who would be your Div 1 manager of the season. I would like to say Russ but I think he has made one or two errors of judgement to make us into a promotion winning team but never the less a good effort.I think my choice would be between Kenny Jacket and Mark Warburton.Jacket has done a fantastic job and delivered on all the clubs hopes.Even with all the resources at his disposal he still had to get them up and he did,in style. But my award goes to a Warburton, who took over the job a third of the way through the season. He came from nowhere and has had very little first team manager experience but still managed to get a rejuvenated Bees team over the line and into the championship. I personally don't think O's will come as close for many seasons to come.

I can't say Kenny Jacket, with the squad he has at his disposal and the resources he has they was always going to go up. I don't think they have a league 1 player they are all championship standard. For me it is Warburton or Slade.
In the premier league i think it is Tony Pulis.

I know exactly what you mean harlowo but there has been many managers with huge resources but still never made it.Sheff Utd,Bristol City, Coventry ,Preston all had huge budgets but did not make it.

A good choice, many fans slag him off but you can't deny, like him or not,he has done a good job for his club, who I think will go through the play offs to win it.

Wolves are still getting the parachute payments for failure in the premier league. Think it was something like 17 million this season. I don't know if any of the others had this much money at their disposal. I am not sure if Sheffield United were still getting money from the premier league when they came down to league 1.

It would have been difficult not to have got wolves promoted as I believe they received a total of £132 million in payments. When we played them at their place they had 3 players on the bench on £40,000 a week. By contrast our entire squad collectively did not earn that .

I would give it to the Coventry Manager just because of what his incompetent board of Directors.and Coventry City Council have done to the Club and there poor fans
I enjoyed watching Coventry twice at Brisbane Rd this season I thought there where a very decent team who knew how to pass a ball and also hit Orient on the counter
I hope they have a better turn of fortune next season

Russ all day long. Warburton for the way he took over, and Evans for the fact that Rotherham only just came up last season.... but they all had the budget to be top 6...where as ours was probably nowhere near.... and by Mid March we were still in with a shout of being top...cant see how anyone else can get it really.

Do you not think rizz22 that Russ has made some bad judgements about some players he has signed and his team rotation,at times, has been poor and just about cost us auto promotion.I'm not slagging him off because I still think he did a good job but not a fantastic job that would have made him manager of the season.

I do think he has made a few bad calls yes, but only in the last couple of months, but for the season overall, we have over achieved. I think it's difficult giving a manager with only half a season in charge manager of the year. Rotherham have only recently over taken us, so would Evans be judged on the first half of the season when they werent so great, whereas our first half was amazing?
I had a discussion with someone at the last game, they mentioned they may not come next season as they were fed up with blowing it this season.... I get the impression some people would rather have had a fairly mediocre season without the stress than to be involved with the one we've just had, which I find bizarre. This is my 27th season at the O's...and by far the most successful, records borken all over the place, so I'm trying to just enjoy it, as lets be honest.... it could well be another 27 years until we have another season like this again.

Well said rizz22 but you must remember a season is 46 games not just before Christmas and yes O's have over achieved, which is what we will have to do most seasons to be just mid-table. As I said before it will be a long time before the next chance for O's but it wont stop me from going.

I'm sure I saw somewhere a record for sides since xmas recently and we were still in the top 6 or 7 for the season based only since xmas, so it's not actually as bad as we thought, think we were just so spoilt in the first half!

I think Wolves are getting 48 million from the premier league over 4 seasons. 15 last season,17 this season and 8 for the next two seasons.

I think Wolves are getting 48 million from the premier league over 4 seasons. 15 last season,17 this season and 8 for the next two seasons. You've still got to use it wisely and sign the correct players and a manager like Jacket did just that. For instance would you give Wolves budget to Graham Westley,I don't think you would harlowo.

Graham Westley never crossed my mind. My point was with that kind of money at their disposal for being a premier league failure they had the best chance in league 1 of getting promoted. And the fact that we matched them for most of the season on our budget was a fantastic achievement, and that is why Slade would get my vote over Jacket.

I always said Mark Warburton for me ,Russ made too many mistakes in the last third of the season but did great!
