Well we end up finishing 3rd which is an incredible achievement by the players and the staff. Today was great fun, decent atmosphere in the orient end who got behind the team as always at away games sprinkled with a bit of fun via fancy dress. There were some great sights very funny.
jones - 6. No chance with the goal deflected couple of dodgy kicks but made a decent stop at 3-1 up that could have brought it back to 3-2.
omuzusi - 7. Played at right back and confirmed what we all knew, class defending never gave the ball away.
sawyer - 7. Unsung hero today some great blocks and maybe one f his best performances in an o's shirt I prefer a left footed player at left back. He won't let us down if called upon in the play offs.
baudry and Clarke - 7. Clarke deserves to be player of the season and baudry seemed to be back to his old self.
vincelot - 6. Dropped deep and gave the ball away the odd time but broke the play up and let lundstram do the ball playing.
lundstram - 6.5. Not as effective as the last few games but his passing and link play is very good. Has formed a decent partnership with vincelot we look solid with these 2 in the middle of the park. At 3-1 up tried a couple of speculative long range shots to test their young keeper one on target the other is in my back garden in essex.
odubajo - 6.5. Few runs but did the right thing in staying away from Lewington the donkey left back who always looked like he was one step from kicking Moses up in the air. Neat passing never gave it away.
cox - 7. Solid and dependable as ever.
money and lisbie - 7. They played together like they did earlier this season this was certainly lisbie's best game for a long long while in my opinion. Mooney finish for the 3 rd goal was quality.
subs
james 6 - come on for lundstram who looked as though he had pulled a groin, not on long enough
dagnall 6.5- missed a sitter in the last minute one on one and curled it wide.
batt- 6.5 normal batt plenty of pace and mins control coupled with the odd decent flick.
dont get me wrong mk dons didn't offer anything going forward but we never gave them the chance. We kept the ball well, we were calm when under pressure and took our goals well. Not as good as Gillingham a few weeks ago but we played better than we did against tranmere last week. This was a performance that reminded me of the start of this season more than many a game over the last 3 months. the sun shining was shining, great seeing us finish 3rd and living in hope of a trip to wembley.
a bit of the old magic and mojo feels back and it bodes well for next week...
