Know this is breaking news, but if this is correctly reported, then premiership 'B' teams can progress from League 3, up to League 1, but no further.
So ultimately does this mean that League 1 will eventually be composed of established 'B' teams with a few bigger League 1 old boys left?
I think it will be hard for under 21's to compete over a full season with established players of League 1 or 2 standard, but is this going to make it even harder for smaller clubs to ever make it into being an established Championship, let alone Premiership side, as we'll be seeing fewer quality loan players?

I think the F.A. are so out of touch it is unreal All this drivel about making the national team better they could do that by limiting the foreigners in any given starting 11 why do this and further jeopardise the already precarious smaller professional clubs

Football league club fans will have no say in it. If it suits the premier ship clubs it will be voted in , then FIFA will tell us we cant restrict Euro footballers playing in the league , as that's a restriction on where they can work ( unless we pull out of Europe). Greg Dyke almost brought the BBC to its knees , now he going to have another go at The football league, as most of our Premiership teams are owned by foreigners , don't think he will have much of a problem.

I think it's a great idea.
Chelsea have some great youth players who we could all be watching down Brisbane Road in a year or two.

Wasn't it the FA that got rid of the combination/intermediate leagues I used to go and watch Orient Reserves and it was a great way of getting injured players back to match fitness and seeing some of the youth coming through
This latest idea by the FA just sucks

They are such twats at the FA. All you have to do is make a rule that more English players play in the premiership first 15 squad.Go take a running jump Mr.Dyke.

The downside to this is that the premier clubs will no longer be loaning there promising youth players to the lower league teams.
