RW looks very relaxed and comfortable. That's a good sign. He tried to get Ling in view on the phone to show Ling's working hard 👍 RW mentions a couple more coming in. I'm assuming a striker and keeper. However, if the keeper's already signed then maybe a striker and another (defender perhaps). Happe is on a special training programme. Why is this? Has his injury flared up or is this a continuation of last season's injury and he's still rebuilding it? If the latter then why did he get minutes during the last home game. I did raise was he being rushed back just for a final game appearance. Thinking deeper, maybe RW thought doing that would help retain his services. Anyway, I don't wish to raise anything with a negative connotation and the club know better than I. We seem to be in a good place. I'm starting to get that giddy feeling for the upcoming season. I just hope we get no injuries during the build-up to full fitness phase, as is often the case.

Good interview. So finish above Bolton and Derby and we’ll have a good year, say Richie. Sounds about right.

Not overjoyed about happe situation, the last thing we need is a centre half who is reluctant to tackle. I guess the missing trio were deemed not fit enough.

I think with Happe it's more likely RW won't risk him jarring his knee on a plastic pitch so soon after his last injury just precaution more than anything else

The Happe 'situation' bothers me a tad.
He's had two similar injuries in consecutive seasons, both serious/very serious, and I'm hoping he isnt going to become one of these injury prone players, that seem to consistently get injured.
With Thompson out till October time, I think we need another CB brought in. Turns on a year loan would do me fine

I've snapped my medial ligament when I was 12 years old. When you return it's in your head about block tackles etc. You know what happened when you did it, you know how hard the recovery is and you don't want it to go again. Physiological could be the issue. However, once you start you forget very quickly and move on and it never bothers you again.
Since then every issue I've had with a knee has been in that same knee the other remains unaffected, strange? Bad luck? I don't know, but what I do is it all steams back to when I was 12.
As for the pitch, professionals hate the surface and you do get a lot of lower leg injuries on them, that's a fact, you can look it up. So by keeping him away is probably best for now.
He will return and prove once more how vital he is and how good he is.

When I found out yesterday that it was an artificial pitch, I was surprised that we picked that sort of surface to play a pre season game on.
No wonder El Miz and Moncs didn't feature.

Without doubt when you talk to the professionals, what you say is absolutely spot on. Then you look at some studies and it is not quite so clear cut, one conclusion being footwear is a major factor to avoid too much traction. Other studies show an increase in upper leg injuries and one study showed a reduction. That’s the issue with theoretical studies, small samples and unreal situations. So who do you believe, the studies or the professionals who play competitively on it. No brainier, I’d go with the professionals. I’d take the view of the likes of RW and others every day. And they seem to hate it. Good enough for me.
