Hi all, I'm pretty new to the board so please be gentle. I have joined as I have seen some interesting discussions on here that have compelled me to sign up.
I am concerned with the following and wondered what your thoughts are:
Information from the cub. The website in my opinion is poor in keeping O's fans up to date with developments in the club and I'm not just referring to recent weeks. Items discussed on the board on many posts including the new Kit, transfers, developments of the 'takeover', have not been mentioned. Surely some one from the club should use these boards and posts to keep us updated.
Transfers. Is the takeover affecting getting people in the building. Teams such as Colchester, Sheffield Utd are 'getting in there early allowing players to blend with the team. How concerned are you that this period could affect our team.
I understand not everything can be discussed on the website but, the ever growing speculation of players leaving and unrest in the club is not good for season ticket sales or support in general.
The one thing I got as an Orient support last season was a renewed love and pride for my club from players to fans.
From what I can see and read this has the potential to implode undoing the hard work and effort by all in last years great season with lack of communication (maybe I should know better by now.)
Come on you O's!!!!

I have a similar view to you this haphazard and intransparent modus operandi could indeed implode on us. Until we have signed some players I will continue to feel ill at ease

Come on you O's!!!! Welcome iansbogie, The club seems to run a tight ship with news, doesn't report on speculation and seemingly only carries stories that are fact. You can't blame them for that. Overall i think when news breaks it is generally well reported, but i share your frustration that not a lot of news is forthcoming at the moment. I definitely feel that the 'takeover' business is having an effect on signings. There are a lot of variables with a new team in, budget, staff, etc. It would be nice to have a few things clarified, but if its pure speculation and rumour-mongering, there's not too much to be said! I agree that it's had to get excited about the east stand seats being ripped out and a new banner going up in the south stand (nice though it is) when your best player has been sold to your biggest rivals, the clubs on the verge of being taken over and all your fan favourites are linked with moves away. Can't be good for those who were hesitant on renewing / buying a season ticket. The whole #riseagain thing seems a bit farcical at the moment. Stick with us on the forum, hopefully some news will break soon and we'll actually have something to discuss!

Hi iansbogie. I agree most of your points but I think that in any potential takeover almost everything is kept under wraps until all it is all signed and sealed. I would expect from what has happened to other clubs that have been taken over that if it does happen deals would have been already set up and alot of things would happen very quickly. If no deal is done however the club would be in a bit of a pickle. Also, I think the website is OK to be fair - they let you know a little after it is announced on twitter. They can't report rumour and speculation on the website so it has to be confirmed. Keep posting here, it is a good forum with no agendas or WUMs (much )

I don`t blame the club for running a tight ship with news, and I don`t understand why they should report on speculations.
Another side of this, is that I have always been surprised by the lack of rapport/coverage from the local newspapers. I read a lot of local papers online, and there are quite a few League Two teams with much better coverage from their local papers. And, it is not just "positive" news. Quite often the news has a critical angle and difficult questions are asked when needed. I miss that. WFG and Newham Recorder just print boring and obvious stories.

Well in fairness the Newham Recorder is geographically a West Ham paper considering it covers the Stratford areas etc

Until the new Chairman is in place no signings will be made.

Until the new Chairman is in place no signings will be made. Seems sensible.
