--at Brissy Rd,everything has gone very quite, nobody saying anything either about transfers or takeovers.I find it just a little bit worrying for no other reason than that we are leaving everything a bit late!

Not gonna lie, I'm also concerned about the lack of transfer activity.
It must stem from the takeover. Or lack of takeover.

No transfers are going to happen until the takeover is either complete or killed off, like slade said we will either be shopping at primark or Harrods, so no point shopping at primark when next week we can afford Harrods. And takeovers take time, it's very complicated so dont expect any new news until it's all done and dusted

On either account he might be too late to actually get players in that HE REALLY WANTS and not the left overs.I hope this wont be the case.

Out of our hands at the moment as we wait for football league ratification that the takeover can go ahead and that Mr Becchetti is a fit and proper person to own a football club, The deal must be all but done for it to go that far.
Hearn will still own the ground and we will be tenants but we were going to be tenant anyway if Hearn had stayed. Once the deal is finally given the go ahead 24 hours notice of a press conference and away we go.....hope Russell is still in charge at the end of it, despite Hearn making all the right noises about the Italians being impressed with Russell Becchetti had his own man Giampaolo lined up for the Reading and Bologna takeovers that never went ahead. my only concern really.

Probably agree with most of that, including Russ's position but I would hate to see the club go the way of an Italian nursery club or do a Chelsea/Arsenal /Watford thing and end up with no or not many Brits on the field,no matter what the cost.I would probably not go any more if that were the case.

I very much doubt a deal will go through without the sale of the land. Why would an Italian want us otherwise?
I can imagine that Barry might sell the land, but have caveat in the contract that protect us.

Not the takeover, or lack of takeover, it's the bad preparation before the start of the season. We flew out the blocks last season. I pretty much guarantee that won't happen this year. In my opinion all this Primark and Harrod's business was just Baz going to the press to try and speed things up a bit and try and put some good spin on what was a very s***ty week for the O's last week when Moses went, Cox and Vincelot were linked away, and the whole club being put in limbo.

You could well be right MungO but surprisingly we haven't had a lot of publicity out of all this,or not as much as I thought we would have. If the deal is done do you think season ticket sales will improve followed by higher attendances or not at all?

I think the only way our home attendance will rise will be down to playing winning, attractive football. Like last season. Though most of the goodwill from last season appears to have dwindled.
Obviously away attendance will fluctuate on division and locality. We'll struggle thus season.

Problem is that better players will go elsewhere with the indecision regarding the take over.
We will be left with expensive players who are just not good enough or players who come to us because they need a job.

Totally agree with what is being said here, wheres the communication from the club as I mentioned it on another thread. Potentially the future looks bright and we could be shopping at Harrods but if you shop in Harrods 10 minutes before closing time you get left with limited choice of goods or ones that will make do rather than what you desire. Its a shame these takeover talks weren't put into motion quicker.
