It could be good if they are willing to accept bids now. Don't forget we tried to buy him in the summer and was told only a loan at present.
This is good news if true as I'm sure we would be interested if he really is for sale at the right price now.

What would be the right price, 350/400 grand?

That would be a great price as I do believe he will be worth at least a million at some point.

If he's available now then our owners should do all they can to sign him up permanently it's not my money i know but he's been with us for two years and he'll be difficult to replace in the summer

Maybe that's why we've gone cold on a winger or forward when we could potentially acquire Idris? Here's hoping anyway.

At 23 a good investment then. I was originally thinking 500/600 grand. That'd take a huge chunk out of the summer budget.
Maybe though the board are up for that for next season.
They've spent enough to get us this far, next season might be where they push the boat out to get us into the Championship.
Nigel said he wants us to be a regular top L1 team for the foreseeable but maybe they're really eyeing mid table Championship.
We'll find out in the summer.

Don't follow the link unless you want Ipswich plastering your details to over 100 of their "vendors". It says:-
Town have rebuffed a number of low six-figure bids for midfielder Idris El Mizouni, who is currently on loan with League One Leyton Orient.
According to the EADT, League One quartet Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United and Wycombe Wanderers, who TWTD first revealed were keen on the Tunisian international in January 2022, have all had offers turned down by the Blues, who it’s understood would be willing to sell the 23-year-old at the right price during this window.
In addition to those four, we understand Derby, who we revealed in May were keen on the Paris-born schemer along with a number of other sides, continue to keep a watching brief.
El Mizouni is in his second season on loan at Orient with his Town contract up in the summer but with the Blues having an option for a further season.

I can't believe we have £200k for an actual transfer 'fee' let alone £300/400/500k.
We'd be blown out of the water by the likes of Derby and Bolton. But this isn't news to us.
If he goes, he goes. But personally I think he knows what the water is like at Orient and we're a lot more stable than the likes of Derby and Bolton.
Who knows what sort of deal we could put together though. Add ons and all that.

If the money is right for him personally and Ipswich he will go. I’ve little doubt he has enjoyed his time with us but if he is ambitious then a move to a bigger club is probably the right thing. If he does let’s be grateful for his contribution to us which has been significant.

I'm probably the only one with this view but hasn't Idris kind of peaked recently? He was a giant in FL2 last year but l don't see him as more than 'solid and reliable' this year.

Every player has his price. Short career in terms of a working life. Grab what you can, save and spend wisely, don't let the shark advisors any where near your money. Or you will end up like Wes Brown broke.

I see what you're saying and to an extent I agree. He isn't a Championship player yet and arguably not a top 8 League One player yet. But we're better with him than without and he seems to be the player that makes things tick for us. If he went he'd be a big loss and difficult to replace.

He has not been as dominant of late but the guy is a class player and playing in what I feel is all too often a disjointed team. Often caused by injuries it’s fair to say. He would fit in very well in a team above our current mid-table level. In fact I’m sure he would cope very well in the Championship. I would be sorry to see him go, but not surprised.

I would like Idris to stay whether still as a loanee or preferably permanent. However, should he leave in this window, and we do not replace him with someone of equal statue, then I'll be concerned about our L1 survival. If we start losing the midfield battle then we'll have trouble getting anything out of games. Pratley can't play a full game, every game. Brown hasn't reached the enforcer level yet. Moncur can't do it. Haven't seen anything anything in Galbraith or Sanders that tell me they're enforcers either. Strangely, I can see Theo doing a decent job but I'm not suggesting it and we need him attacking. I won't worry until, if, it happens.

I like Idris, but he isn’t our player and we have no control over his next move, unless he feels Richie and the O’s can develop him further than other clubs having an interest. My gut feel is that Ipswich valuation will be too much for us and that he’ll go elsewhere, but if so it leaves an opportunity for us to find another unpolished gem, something I’m sure we are already looking for.

We've got quite a lot of decent midfielders but Idris would leave a massive hole. Relying on Brown to always play DM also means we'd lose him as backup at RB and CB, so we'd suddenly look a bit light in those positions too. From our perspective, I can't think of a worse possible move this Jan than losing Idris to another League 1 side.

Theo and El Miz are the two that make this team in my humble and losing either of them (or our manager) would be very very destabilising for the rest of our season.
Remember Ling saying that when he contacted him close season El Miz jumped at the chance to come back to us. He’s happy here and we should play on that - making him ours should be worth whatever reasonable money is being asked for him. Barnsley and Oxfords midfields are already brimming so he’d be going into a dogfight for a game
