Never made a secret of how much I dislike our ground these days and facilities, playing in the middle of a housing estate. But as an ‘addict’ I still come and focus on the team and ignore the surroundings. I’ll even buy a beer in the East on Saturday as per NT. train’s permitting It’s the “ playing in the middle of a housing estate” that unfortunately holds us back financially and probably always will do. Hearn has a great deal to answer for.😕 OK red I'll bite : When Wood wanted to sell us years ago ,it is true only one person wanted us and that was Phil Wallace .He said at that time " I will not put any money into this club as it will only lose more ". Bazza came along with his famous club for a fiver offer and Woods was only to pleased to see the club taken of his hands . Hearn brought in a few managers ,including Tommy Taylor who through his connections got us a few decent players .When Ling came to the club we finally got out of div 2 . We very nearly made it to the championship under another manager that Hearn employed ,Russel Slade . Yes Bazza did do stuff to our stadium ,which had to be all seater under the new rules . Yes he financed it by building on bits of the ground . But lets face it the stadium was falling down anyway ,we were and still are ,getting the lowest crowds in London and probably always will whilst we stay in London ,that is unless some with a shed load of money comes along and is willing to flush it down the toilet for a few years until we reach the promised land which I very much doubt .

I also remember when he joined the talk of a new stadium, even did an artist impression in one programme. He talked about top flight too. He talked of good times to come in those early days. I also remember his answer to a question about asset stripping. His reply “assets, what assets”. We all know the answer to that question now. Land valued at what, £15m plus. I was one of many who thought we had found a great owner but it became more apparent that he was reluctant to invest and sadly he was the king of bulls***. The North and South terraces were not falling down though needed to be converted and the East remains to this day. The West is no longer a football stand but an office block with some seating latched on to the side. . It’s hard to argue against seating but modifications were made in such a way that any future improvements to capacity became impossible. Meaning today we are realistically a league 1 level club. And of course when Becchetti came along he sold us out and nearly caused the club to fold as a result.

Wasn’t intended for anyone to “ bite” Maylands that I can assure you - but I’ll “ bite” back!😄👍 In my view Hearn was a chancer of epic proportions who left the club at the first opportunity he could having putting little in and taken everything he reasonably could out of the club. LOFC owned Brisbane Road under Tony Wood in 1995 - by the time Hearn left in 2014 he owned the lease , reduced capacity to profit from the building of flats and left the club as mere tenants on a commercial lease and a rental obligation which costs around £150k per quarter! Imho Hearn thought he could buy the club on the cheap ( which he did) and thought he could conquer football like he had with darts and snooker. After a few setbacks he grew disillusioned and effectively starved the club of investment. Finally in respect of those who say “ he saved us” he may have but unfortunately he proceeded to nick our wallet, keys and phone and leave us up a dark alley with a madman. Other than that he was alright!🤣🤣👍

I think the rent is more likely in the region of £200k per annum. It was £180k per annum so it maybe that or a little more, I'd be mortified if it were £600k.
