Don’t think that post is about addiction but quality. Insulting those who choose to use it! Whilst ironically demonstrating the traits of those being criticised. 😂 You need to consider that for many people, social media is a way of keeping in touch with family, friends, old colleagues. A link to the wider world and perhaps a Godsend to many lonely people. It is alao a very useful tool. For example my son and family have lived in Australia for 10 years. Facebook is great for him to share his life down under with those he left behind. Others in my family use it in much the same way. So for some, life is much better because of it. To use the term people is by far too broad. Wrong in fact. Some people maybe. You’ve obviously got a mobile phone try using it to talk to your family ,friends ,old colleagues “ it’s so much nicer to talk and the rest of the world doesn’t get to know your business that is unless you like to let everyone know ,which I suspect you do ! Think you miss the point. well actually I don’t think you do. I use my mobile, Facebook, FaceTime, Messenger, messages, Email and landline. Also visit in person. There are many ways to communicate, like this forum, and it’s not a 1 size fits all. They all have benefits. A simple example being of course the ability to communicate whilst the other person is not available. Such as time differences. Or to communicate to multiple people at the same time, (my ex company Facebook group is about 80 people, imagine doing that on a mobile) or ship photos and videos that people can keep and watch at a time that suits them. Modern day communication. one Facebook group I’m on has several hundred members, I don’t want to speak with any of them but am very interested in the photos and stories they post. This forum has goodness knows anybnumber of people that I communicate with but not on a mobile call. The use your mobile comment just doesn’t stack up as shown by us sharing this communication now. Of course you are right about not over-sharing on social media. Controls exist but can be hacked. So being sensible is recommended.

I've withdrawn myself from Social Media over the last 3 years and my life is much better. It's an addiction that people need to break. What are the biggest benefits would you say MungO? I'm considering a total withdrawal myself and curious what tangible things you'd mention. More time. And when I see my family and friends it's a nice surprise to let them tell me what they've been up to. I understand Dohnut saying it's great for staying in touch though. And when used properly it has it's uses. As someone said, the same as any WhatsApp group or Forum really. The algorithms they use are similar to fruit machine and gambling companies to keep you coming back. The notifications you receive at key times aren't by chance, etc. Charlie Brooker had it right about ten years ago when he said that Social Media is and will be the world's biggest computer game. The endless search for clicks, likes, subscribers, acceptance.

He is a bloody sight better than what we have seen so far in my opinion. Maybe just not right for the way we play. Disappointed, few years go I really rated him and hope he can come good with us. His hold up play and passing is pretty good but not too sharp in front of goal, yet.
Come on ‘Lester’, show us the winner we know you can be .

He doesn't seem to be the player that we 'need'
But he does offer us something different.
But we generally don't play in a different way.
I agree that he is better than what he has shown us so far.

I like him, but he’s not the head down close the opposition back line down type of forward. He’s more of a link man, can hold the ball up well, but you won’t see him taking on players like Agyei, Archibald or Forde. Useful as a change up, or if you want to try and close the game down.

Agree. When he signed I heard somewhere online, ( It might even have been RW ? ) that Joe was not an out an out number 9 type Centre Forward, more of a Teddy Sheringham type of player and Teddy often played the number 10 role.
Teddy Sheringham style of play A versatile forward, Sheringham was capable of playing as a striker and also as a supporting forward, courtesy of his ability both to score and create goals.[54] Due to his vision, his ability to read the game, and his short passing ability, Sheringham was capable of playing off another striker, in a deeper, creative role, where he served as an assist provider, in particular in later years, as he lost pace and stamina. He also possessed good technical ability and upper body strength, which allowed him to retain possession in the box and hold up the ball when playing with his back to goal, and subsequently lay it off to his teammates

Often used by wannna-be attention seekers, especially by many young women who like taking selfies of themselves and posting them on Facebook etc. For myself, I stay well clear of Facebook and Twitter and communicate with others by means of my phone, emails, text messages or Skype.

Personally, i think signing Pigott was a huge mistake. My opinion is Pigott is a non league player, probably National League, or maybe even National League north/South standard.
We were about to sign Harry McKirdy, and then his medical problem stopped us, and we then signed Pigott in my opinion as a panic buy.
With Ageyi, and Forde seemingly in the team for the rest of the season, Pigott hopefully wont get much of a look in. We are so much weaker with him in the team.

A 1 in 4 ratio shows quite clearly he very much is a league 1 quality player. Not been outside league 1 for 6 years.

I think Joe Piggot is a step up from what we had last season. Now Agyei is fit and doing great, Piggot will find it difficult to get the nod. He isn't a winger either where the likes of Theo, Forde, Drinan and Ruel (Graham injured) are considered. If I saw Piggot fitting in now it's be as a false nine, however I'm not sure we would want to change our current formation/team. I'd utilise Piggot ahead of Moncur (sorry Moncur fans).
