Rumour on Twitter from @steveparkinuk that Piggot has terminated his contract with Orient following a bust up with Richie Wellens. Pigs probably not happy at being on the bench and did not like it if Richie told some home truths. As you say, all rumour and you definitely have to take it with a grain of salt if it's on there! Suggest you look at his other posts though!

Hmmmm, maybe but I've never heard of a football player in history terminating his own contract, losing all salary and probably bring sued by the club. Normally they just bitch to their agent and ask for a transfer.

The Steve Parkin account is some kind of unfunny parody account and totally to be ignored.

I think the old adage âa vacuum must be filledâ is applicable here. No transfer activity to report so things must be made up to fill the space left on the â twitter sphere â!

Piggot hasnât posted on his twitter account since early 2023 , Seems level-headed and very sensible. I really like him as a player. He might not have scored too many goals but he's a good presence on the pitch and can start attacking moves well.

Why the hell do you supposedly educated people even go onto twatter ,Facebook etc . It just encourages more morons to believe whatâs on there . Can understand that view but there are a couple of observations from me, a frequent Facebook user. By your definition a supposedly educated possible moron. In amongst all the crap there is in fact some very useful and interesting stuff. Morons, to use your terminology, may not be able to tell the difference. Most of us can. Itâs a social media outlet, in the same way that this forum and the dark side are. It will contain its share of nonsense but also some really good information. Facebook contains groups. For example one group Iâm on is for ex-employees of the company we worked for. Itâs a fantastic way to keep in touch with former friends and colleagues. Im also in a group for people born in Clapton, Hackney etc. This supposedly educated moron finds the publication of old photos and associated stories from the areas very interesting. A nostalgic look back to my roots. in a couple of Orient groups. Fascinating stuff and full of the usual comments we find on here. Itâs also, by way of example, where I found out about Cooper signing so raised a thread on here to share. It goes onâŚ. Frankly what is sad is judging a platform whilst knowing nothing about it. The self belief in being able to separate the wheat from the chaff is important. Just my opinion of course.

Insulting those who choose to use it! Whilst ironically demonstrating the traits of those being criticised. đ You need to consider that for many people, social media is a way of keeping in touch with family, friends, old colleagues. A link to the wider world and perhaps a Godsend to many lonely people. It is alao a very useful tool. For example my son and family have lived in Australia for 10 years. Facebook is great for him to share his life down under with those he left behind. Others in my family use it in much the same way. So for some, life is much better because of it. To use the term people is by far too broad. Wrong in fact. Some people maybe.

I can understand people having negative opinions, to be honest some of Facebook in my opinion is either rubbish or scams. But parts are again in my opinion pretty good. Very good I think. I would not criticise those who choose to avoid it, nor would I describe those that do as supposedly educated and possible morons. And absolutely the same as other forums. Itâs what makes them interesting to me.

I'm considering a total withdrawal myself and curious what tangible things you'd mention.

I restrict myself to family and friends WhatsApp groups, no twitter (X),no Facebook and I try to restrict the amount of time I spend on this forum. Itâs too easy to respond to everything that goes on on each platform and feel that by posting you make a difference. Tbh, whatever news you get on any platform will eventually find its way into the mainstream media, so if Iâm late in hearing about Cooperman for example, it wonât change my life and I donât need to respond to everything anyone posts or sends me, unless I feel especially keen. By being on less it frees up more time and Mrs BB is a lot happier when she can talk to me đ
