Not quite kicked on this season . Will probably benefit if he can get the extra games at Crewe. We have three good CB’s and should have adequate cover with Tom James and Jordan Brown able to fill in the event of injury. Not too sure I like the idea of players filling in. CB is a specialist role and whilst you can ask any player to play anywhere it don’t mean they can with any degree of adequacy. 4 Centre Backs cover 2 spots with this “thick and fast” games period coming up is required. Still 18 games to go. This situation is very much at odds with the players needing a rest mantra that is regularly put out. I don’t think Wellens sees James as a “ fill in” at CB to be honest. He’s played there a number of times - at the expense of Turns on occasion- so barring a welter of unforeseen injuries at the position, which no one can legislate for I think we’ll be ok. Some people have made a lot of the club retaining El Miz during the window ( which was out of our hands largely as he’s an Ipswich player) but personally I think Ling deserves plaudits for holding on to Dan Happe. Losing him would have been a blow. |

Turns is a very good young prospect and was excellent for us last season but i think he's struggled a little bit with the step up and the pace of league one.Dont think he was helped being played early in the season when we were adjusting and took a couple of heavy defeats which might have knocked his confidence.Hes a good player though and will do well in the game and i wish him luck

Of course we could be lining up a star at CB who is out of contract in the summer.
