This is an experiment for lofcwomen.com - but it's not about that on this occasion..... This is a rough and ready auto voice-over test.
I would very much appreciate if you think this is awful (1/10) - meh (4/10) - or clearly on the right road (9/10)
Not convinced to be honest but would you rather listen to this or read a static web page?

AI is awful all round. Voice record it I’m sure your voice will be more palatable

Not great 4/10. It is very wooden and you loss interest after a short while. Still better I think though than reading text. Own voice over would sound better.

Fisch I don't know if there are different voices or platforms you can use, but there is a crime scene YouTube account I follow and whilst it's AI it flows more like a human, you know its not but the quality is far higher than in your example. I don't sit there thinking I can't listen to this at all, so maybe there are better versions of it out there.
Maybe a bit of digging around to find a better voice would help your idea progress further. Don't give up at the first hurdle! Go find that voice!

Maybe a bit of digging around to find a better voice would help your idea progress further. Don't give up at the first hurdle! Go find that voice! Cheers Thor. I have "Spicelo" which gives me options of 50 voices in English. They are all clear in terms of diction but all miss the inflection of a human, you can't ask rhetorical questions, the "and by the way" type of phrases just don't work.. the list goes on. The whole idea is to give an option (to people like me) who get put off reading lines of text on a static platform and would prefer somebody telling me what's going on. For those who follow such things, famed YouTubers Jago Hazzard, who you hear but never see, and Geoff Marshall, who you both see and hear are the two models I'm investigating - "heard but never seen" is my favourite option but that gives a huge problem. Jago has to have a huge library of stills and clips to show whilst he speaks off camera and which relate to the text, Geoff merely shows his face talking and has far less need for a library. The workload may prove a bridge too far.
