Richly deserved award for RW. I bet the FA Disciplinary Committee are spitting feathers!🤣🤣👍 The picture shows ten people including Richie Wellens, Matt Harrold and Paul Terry. Anyone know the identity of the others who are shown ?
O’s boss Richie Wellens has won the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award for January. Orient enjoyed a fantastic first month of 2024; beating Cambridge United, promotion-chasing Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers and concluding it with a draw against in-form Reading. The 10 points from a possible 12 was secured by Wellens’ side scoring seven times and conceding just one goal across the four matches. Upon winning the award, the O's Head Coach said: “January was fantastic for us and I was delighted with all of our performances during the month. Beating the likes of Portsmouth and Bolton has given us a lot of belief going into the final months of the season and it’s been a pleasure to see how much our talented young squad has developed throughout the season so far. “They are a pleasure to work with and I’m excited about their future development. “Although it is me who picks up the award, I have to thank my staff and of course my players. We are very much a team here and they all deserve the praise just as much as I do.” Wellens saw off competition from Blackpool’s Neil Critchley, Bolton’s Ian Evatt and Peterborough United’s Darren Ferguson to win the monthly accolade.

The punishment also was impacted by an earlier transgression. The Sky award was for the whole month. It’s ok to mention both is the same news story, it’s interesting, understandable, newsworthy but the events are not connected.

His award too is wholly justified.
