Nice little sit down with Khayon. Now he's had his first game he will only grow as a player.

I thought he did ok today Not too sure he did a great deal. The odd good moment but that’s it. Not his fault, he tried. But no real impact. He plays because we have no one else fit. Making up the numbers.

Come on let's think about this for a minute. He's played over 2 games approx 120 mins give or take. He has never played professional football before, never seen a 13 stone 6ft 4 centre half who has been playing at this level for 10 years. He's been at the club 2 weeks, so he's getting to know the coaching team, the players, the style of play. We are getting to know him as well at the same time.
Yesterday, when did we play him in? When did we give him a ball down the side of the centre half? When was a pass played into his feet? When was he used to link up play with the midfield? I'm pretty sure the answer to all my questions were never, not once.
So whilst we can be critical and I was critical of that performance yesterday, popping at a youngster isn't the way to go in my opinion. We should encourage him, build his confidence and support him.

Early days of course but a quiet debut and largely ineffective yesterday imho. Will have to learn quickly if his loan spell is to be “ Campbellesque”.

I think Kevin Campbell came to the O's in a different era.He had the previous benefit of coming up against in training at Arsenal of Tony Adams and, Steve Bould. They no doubt gave him a rough ride and also helped him to develop as a Centre forward. When he came to the O's he was 75% the finished article. O's were used by Arsenal as the finishing school.

Just to add about Campbell, he was on loan when we were in the fourth tier so was up against less capable defenders than Edwards is now.
As for Edwards, thought he done OK and at least he's more mobile than Joe Pigott.
The crux is that whoever is playing in the middle of the three, under Richie their role is not to score goals but to create space for others.
