Chairman - Russell talking to players as we speak
Club - expect four to six new signings
The press - new dawn exciting times
Fact - we sign a free transfer from Charlton

While time will tell.
But I agree the press conference was a bit of Bazza saying anything and everything he was so glad to finally have the wonga in his pocket he has been craving for years.

I think the player from Charlton ,will prove to be a good signing for us ,good reports coming from addicks fans about him ,as for the other new signings lets settle down a bit it will happen ,not worth running in to the sweet shop and getting carried away ,lets get the right players in that can do the job , COYOS

Let's not forget our new signings have a World Cup final to play so they will be distracted and won't have time to sign contracts

I'm sure that the Pritchard transfer was already in the pipeline before the takeover, and that it takes longer than a few hours to negotiate and complete transfer contracts....It's what happens in the next couple of weeks that'll be interesting. Don't forget that only 60% of the club's turnover can be used as the entire wage budget - that kind of hamstrings some of the more fanciful dream acquisitions!

Agree about the Pritchard deal being done before the takeover. Welcome on here too.

It does take time and the few hours quote is lost in translation, where for example we would say the next few days, native tongues such as French and Italian say these coming hours when translating their native tongue to English particularly if their English isn't great As for the 60% rule cash injections are not subject to it as I understand it.

I do believe that if our new owner want's to rename the ground, for instance,he would pay for it and that would become part of the kitty. So if he put's a mll or two in, it's Russ's to spend.

He is also looking to get a Shirt sponsor , can the money from that be used by Russ.

Personally I'm not expecting anything staggering in the transfer department this year, I think it's the January window that will be the one to watch. There could be some major traffic both ways around about then.
