Having bumped into Dale, on and off, for as long as l can remember, it is a little concerning to see they've called an EGM for March 7th. Matters to be decided include an unrestricted shares issue, removal of the auditors and removal of the need to consult about about changing the articles of association. I take this to mean they are about to declare themselves a business autocracy and sell shares which they'll produce from a back pocket. As the lead of their supporters club put it; "this is an existential matter for Rochdale AFC". I hope they get through this.

Unrestricted shares is a short term measure as I understand it. Maybe changes to Articles of Association are needed to permit this. Could be the Auditors cannot accept the changes and have gone. Don’t really understand all this when put together. Is it a simple change in business model or are they in trouble? Hope not. Their current form has taken a nosedive recently so wonder if there is trouble brewing.
your right Fisch. Just done some research and didn’t realise they are fan owned and need to raise funds or go into liquidation. Hence the share issue. Leaving the door open to anyone wanting to buy the club. Also suggests why the AoA needs to change. Deep trouble. Hope they survive.
