I've just come across a live Q&A session with NT and MD on YouTube. I'm not sure of the start time and neither do I know how to provide the link. Just go to the Orient YouTube channel and it'll show.

Half watched it while doing something else. Don't recall picking up on anything significant that wasn't already known, although maybe I missed something. I did learn that YouTube interrupts live streams with ads too. Pretty annoying that.

How would they get this kind of money for little to no return, and no direct control for the new investors? This reminds me of the original Wall Street. They are fishing for whales.

They will own the land and ground. Transferring cash into assets. Plus get some revenue annually from rent etc. long term stuff

A premier league club on prime land with a new stadium with the money only ever increasing at that level. It will be cheap to get involved with.

Interesting when Nigel said that they are looking at several sites and a couple are very close to Brisbane rd. My guess is these sites are either Hackney marshes, just the other side of Spitalfields market, or the more likely contender would be the cricket ground area. From memory this is quite a big footprint and is close enough to Leyton Midland station. Not sure if its used for cricket these days but we maybe able to do a ground share with the cricket club if thats a sticking point?

The big asset in any redevelopment isn’t the ground, but would be the hotel, which has been mentioned previously as part of the package. Industry standard for hotel valuation (according to Google) is the average daily rate of the room, multiplied by 1000 and then the number of rooms. Get an 80 bed hotel on the land, with average room rates of £120 upwards and you can see how things might stack up better.

I guess Orient have the potential to be a Premier League club with the right infrastructure. A good plot of land near Leyton underground/Stratford International with hotels/apartments/shopping etc. would fit the bill, however the noisy neighbours have all of that on Orient’s doorstep, so not sure how it would work. Looking at Google maps, the best location from what I heard would be Leyton Mills Retail Park. Most of it is car park. Not sure what the likes of Asda would think, but I suppose most of the buildings there are big sheds that could be better located, especially given how difficult it can be to get in and out of there in a car nowadays.

Leyton Midland is too small a station and it’s on the GOBLIN which goes to where no one really wants to go! I suspect that any site would need to be walkable to/from Stratford. Only part of marshes in Waltham Forest is the hockey centre. The part the other side of Spitalfields is in Hackney.
