Just finished listening to yesterday's Not The Top 20 podcast. They seem to think Shads has been one of League 2's standout players this season and could make Gills quite a lot of money. Hope we've got a sell-on clause!

Slightly curious decision to let him go in the first place imho. Clearly did not quite fit with Wellens’ idea of a defender.

Slightly curious decision to let him go in the first place imho. Clearly did not quite fit with Wellens’ idea of a defender. Thought it made sense at the time tbh -- looked like the 4th-choice CB and he needed games. Would he be the player he's become now if he hadn't played at all for the first half of the season? Of course, right now we could really use another CB and probably a full-back too 😅 |

Shame cos when we went three at the back he’d have been perfect on the left of the three. Still I’m pleased to hear he’s doing well, I liked him as a player, a player who was still developing and had good train on value which I’m guessing is happening now.

My Gills fan friend is than impressed. In his view, Shad has loads of talent but being in the right place at key moments is not one of them.

If he was not putting in 100% into every training session then I think we made the right choice in letting him go. The minimum we need is hard working players and I think we have them. |
