Chelsea failing to condemn their player for racially abusing a police officer. Going to court with the evidence of two police officers and presumably captured on their video cameras.
Compared to how Cardiff dealt with Jack Simpson the approaches are chalk and cheese. Whilst Simpson showed instant remorse, Kerr and Chelsea have not. Denial and ‘we stand by our player’ platitudes. Wonder what Chelsea will do once (or if) the courts find her guilty. The Australian FA claimed they weren’t even aware of the incident and are monitoring the situation.
In my opinion, she should lose her captaincy for the national team, face a lengthy ban and up to Chelsea whether they break her contract but their track record suggests they won’t.
