The U's have been given permission to shorten the length and width of their pitch. This to assist I assume in drainage of the pitch. What has happened to this ground. Only opened and completed in 2008.How can the pitch drainage fail after 16 years? The main construction company Barr Construction ceased trading in 2023. Any Latent defects period recourse will be hard to retrieve. The Borough Council own the ground. Do they maintain the facility as Landlords or as Tenants Colchester Utd are to maintain the pitch part of their Tenancy agreement. Who ever is responsible there appears a lack of supervision and maintenance.

I'm guessing from your post it's the council and as far as repairs etc it's down to the lease holder i.e the club the council doesn't own the ground, the leaseholder does through its ownership. Colchester fc are owners.

In regard to your last point the job of Head Groundsman at Colchester is currently vacant and being advertised as a salary of £36k p.a. Any takers?👍

No wonder the vacancy remains unfilled.

Drove past Colchester's ground twice last week. Going and coming back.
It really is in the arse end of nowhere.

If the club was clever here, petition the league to remove the home goal at Brisbane Rd. This would aid in ensuring the completion of Orient’s fixture list.
