There will be seven new teams in League 1 next season.I wonder if we will have an easier league or a more difficult league in our push toward The Championship. Now we are League 1 wise I believe it may be a tad easier and some of the big boys will be promoted.Going to be an exciting season if we have all our best players ready to go from match one.Hope we can get through pre season without any serious injuries.

Teams coming up too look useful.
But we will be a year wiser and several players stronger. I’m sure we will cope well and be chasing the playoffs. Be good to see some new teams too.

League 1 this season has looked weaker than usual and League 2 stronger than usual. Then you see that some big teams are guaranteed to come down cos it's pretty much a Best of the Championship compilation up there.
I should think the league will be of a higher standard next year. We should be too, with a good young team coming back more experienced. There are a few problem areas though, especially if we lose El Miz, Shaq, Happe, and Ruel. We'll need a goalie too (Brynn back absolute minimum, but I'd prefer an upgrade), possibly a left back if Richie doesn't fancy Sweeney, and who knows what the plans for the attack are: Agyei as the 9 with Ruel as an alternate? Do we need another winger or can we rely on at least 2 of Graham, Agyei, and Theo to stay fit? Is there a role for Pigs? Does Moncur's upturn in form mean it's better to keep him or cash out asap? Could be a very busy summer for Lingy.

If players like Happe and Soteriou make noises that they want away and won’t sign contracts then plan for life without them and not wait to see if they go. Best to try and get in players as replacements. No or minimal last minute stuff. Get the core sorted. I’m sure our attractiveness has gone up after a good first season. And in RW a manager who will inspire. Gonna be good!

Virtually impossible to predict our fortunes next season at this juncture imho. A lot will depend upon the various player ins & outs over the summer but some good groundwork appears to have been done since January in terms of securing Cooper and Simpson as counterparts/ replacements for Happe if he does move on. If the fitness woes of Agyei, Archibald & Graham can be successfully overcome then RW will have the basis of a good squad. I still can’t help but wonder though if the club had been able to successfully conclude its business quicker and had gone in with a more positive mindset than the “ consolidation “ outlook that Travis mooted back in August whether we could be half a dozen points better off now and on the verge of the top six? Seems to me that we weren’t able take full advantage of the “ momentum factor”. Be interesting to see if Chesterfield (and Stockport or Wrexham as the two others most likely to go up I’d have thought) take a more speculative approach than we did - and if it pays off. 👍

We had the worst of our injuries before the season started so hard to assess what we would have done. That is why I asked what RWs fantasy line up would be if all were fighting fit.

Right I'm off to the kitchen and see what the tea leaves say. I will open a couple of tea bags and see what happens. I will report back shortly.

Redintheface. Chesterfield are non league, though they are well clear they only go up one division.

I promptly emptied the contents of the teabags on the worktop and was told in no uncertain terms “clean that mess up now and stop being stupid” I then retired to the living room.
