Wessex premier league game.
A yellow card for the player after scoring, then leaving the field to celebrate with a spectator by taking his beer and having a drink. Late goal and a screamer. Had to look up the laws to work out why. But seems the referee got it right as the laws state a yellow must be given.

Must be for leaving the field of play without permission?

I remember Mickey Quinn at Coventry once ate a pie a supporter threw at him but jumping into the crowd and drinking a fans beer is next level.😄👍

I remember Mickey Quinn at Coventry once ate a pie a supporter threw at him but jumping into the crowd and drinking a fans beer is next level.😄👍 Crowd is perhaps too strong in the Wessex premier. I’d guess 200/300 people. I thought it was funny. Great strike, 0-0 at the time with maybe 10 minutes to go and it looked like his mates he went too. Seemed happy to share their booze. Lads having fun. The assistant referee near us explained why the card was issued, wouldn’t get that in the EFL. Though I assumed he got booked for leaving the field andvtaking the Pizz by taking a drink or excessive celebration but it’s actually a offence, though safety is the reason not having a quick half. Turning point, ended up 3-0. Just love football in the lower leagues.

Must be for leaving the field of play without permission? I think leaving the field and mixing with spectators constitutes a safety issue. Whilst he’s having a quick drink the risk being home supporters may not see the funny side and decide to have a go. The red mist happens at all levels of football as you know so it could have created a punch up.
