Interestingly he says we’ve given certain players plenty of chances and they’ve not taken them. Who is he referring to?

I'm on the rattler now so can convey who I think RW was talking about.
Sweeney - he was up against one of the best right wingers I've seen in a one off game in our league this season. Don't know if he's consistent but he was effective last night. I might be going against the grain here, but I felt he did OK against his man. Yes he got done a few times, but don't we all? Did he stick to his instructions? Of that I'm not sure and maybe that's what RW maybe hinting at. Sweeney I do believe is in danger of being moved on in my opinion.
Lester - whenever he made a mistake and there were quite a few I looked at RW and he's looking at the ground shaking his head and at times kicking the ground in frustration. I don't recall him winning one header, nor do I recall any link up play. His intensity in the press was lacking and he didn't get a shot off or create any chances for his team mates. A certainty to be moved on in the summer.
James - he has been recently poor. His passing seems to have deserted him, he is slow in recovery and at times seems disinterested. Maybe he's been spoken to already and isn't that bothered now? I don't know. I do know he's a good player, maybe it's attitude?
Sanders - he wasn't at the races yesterday and was hooked in each of his last games. Is that a sign that RW expects more of him? Is he in danger? I still don't think he's match fit which is maybe why he's getting hooked frequently.
Who else do you think is at danger?

Piggot has another season left on his contract though I understand. Dont think anyone would be swooping in for him and not sure how the club can put him on the market whilst under contract? Maybe a free to another club if he wants to go there? Shame, as I think there is a player there, but we need to be quite clinical here, its just not been working. Hope Sweeny not in firing line as I think he is useful and moves forward and at least has a shot at goal... Agree, TJ been off boil - lad has gone through a huge bereavement so maybe affecting him. Agree re: Sanders...... Does anyone know situation with Beckles re: contract?

Sweeney and James would seem to be prime candidates among the out of contract, it's actually difficult to spot too many others. I'm sure Beckles is in contract but I don't see him as a first-team regular next season. Pigott doesn't fit the system but as a proven goalscorer can easily be found a new home.
A number of players will also doubtless stall on new contracts.

Our problems were clear in the second half well before we went down to 10 men. That just made it worse. Exeter scoring was always on the cards, they were dominating possession and threatening as soon as the second half started and we were chasing shadows. Our fortunate second helped us gain a point. But a nothing game for us and that is exactly what it looked like. So realistically the result is no big deal. Injuries are.
Dont think I’ll comment on the players. RW has some tough decisions to make. Those with time left on their contract are unlikely to move on unless they have a better option, so will probably stay.
On a positive note Oberio I thought did well, Simpson looks decent and ONeil is promising.

Sweeney hasn't featured enough for a 23-year-old and seems to me in the same boat as Piggot. I think both would be able to rebuild their careers/do well in League Two at somewhere like Gillingham.
Tom James has had a poor season. Any goals? Poor corners, Throws ineffective. Occasional golden moment but that's not good enough.
I hope we keep Sol. I think he's replaced Vigoroux well considering it's a higher league and three of the same defenders (another being truly a midfielder). I hope he's signed up.
I fear for Sanders. Had moments but hasn't really put in many shifts.
I wonder again whether Beckles is up to it. Again he has some really good moments but keeps getting caught in possession and twaddling about with silly passes at the back.
The rest should stay.

But he hasn't scored any goals, Nick! 😁 Seriously though, what do you like about him? Average shot stopper, poor with crosses, distribution isn't great. Has made several mistakes and been quite lucky more haven't led to goals. Has conceded three directly from free kicks about 35 yards out by the byline. Has a nice smile though.

As far as I can tell - correct me - Sweeney, Pigott, Beckles and Sanders are all under contract for next year. Brynn is a confident lad - a good shot stopper and normally sound in the air (except for a couple of recent slips) but his distribution needs work. I would also keep him or sign him if he's available. Forde can stay if he wants and of course El Miz will need to become a permanent player before we can put up a statue. James, I fear, is on his way which is sad because he was a big part last year. He has never quite matched his form in the Kenny Jackett side before his injury and has looked more and more out of sorts as 23/24 has gone on. Pratley and Thompson will also leave. Hunt is a Wellens protege but I'm not sure he's done enough either. The defence could look very different next year. Simpson, Sotiriou and Obiero should all be offered deals. Question marks over Happe (injury prone?) and- I astonish myself saying this- Archibald. Do we need three left wingers in the squad and which one is out of contract?

It seems that we all have wildly differing opinions about him. I think his shot stopping is good and he's improving with crosses (except v Peterborough when I don't think the team had finished their warm-up). And he does have a nice smile. On your point about scoring goals I reckon he's El Miz in disguise.

I know, but it seems that Richie is quite determined to sideline players he doesn't think are good enough for his team. That wouldn't be good for their playing careers. I appreciate that Beckles and Pigott don't have many years left but the other two need to be playing week in week out.

Difficult times ahead for a few players,RW and the recruiting staff.I feel sure due diligence has has been done on players who have a better grasp of what is needed if we are looking to another promotion. An experienced keeper is a must,as is a half decent striker as we possibly cannot afford a good striker. If our injured players make a full recovery I am sure they will fit in well. Last nights game was good to watch to see how we could cope with the barnstorming Exeter City play in the second half.Ideas were cast aside and utter panic resulted the result tells us that.Exeter were good to watch and we nearly stole three points. One point was a good result with the dominance Exeter showed. To sum up and be really truthful,I don't know what to think, other than to say I have enjoyed our first season back in League 1 and pleased with the points we have gained.

No reason at all why Archibald should not recover from having an ACL knee operation, plenty of sportsmen and women break the ACL and come back to regain their careers after the operation and rehab. Much depends on how much of the knee was injured, other ligaments, cartilage etc. A recent example is England ladies Captain, Leah Williamsony, had ACL operation a year ago and now back playing for her club side Arsenal and she played the full game for England last night. Also.......''An ACL injury early in Alan Shearer's career didn't stop him becoming a Premier League great or impede his incredible goal-scoring knack. He ruptured his right ACL in his first season with Blackburn Rovers in 1992 and returned a year later to score 31 goals. The next season he improved again, and his 34 goals led Blackburn to the Premier League title. His career tally of 260 goals makes him the top scorer in Premier League history, 52 ahead of Wayne Rooney in second.

I’m conscious of the fact that as we approach new contract time, for players it can be a career defining moment. For us fans it’s about next season, for some players it’s about the rest of their lives. But facts of life come into play and RW, like many managers, has some tough decisions to make. The prospect of being unemployed come July 1st must be tough. So we know some players will go, some careers may come to an end. For some their careers may take off.
I’m grateful to all the squad who have given us a successful season and overall an enjoyable one. Certainly better than I anticipated. For those that depart I wish them all the best in their future lives. Memories have been created.

Some Orient players over the years go far from the mind, others remain as a permanent fixture. One to forget was Nigel Donn, but as he played for the O's I hope he found a living at whatever level he played. Maybe we did him a favour letting him go and he is now worth a few million by other means, would be nice.
