Assuming we get a decent number of Orient games that’s not bad value. Streaming at £10 per game averages £40 per month. But it boils down to how many Orient games are shown, I’ve little interest in watching Wrexham vs Birmingham etc. so if we figure just twice a month then it’s not great value. Likely to be 25 games from August to April, so about three per month. Most will be concentrated around Christmas and Easter, so might be worth just getting a month as and when required. There is plenty of other sport. I would get Sports on Now TV for December as it's better than watching The Sound of Music and The Great Escape again. Can always cancel it once Os games are no longer broadcast having won the League One title 😊 According to the Sky Sports+ blurb “ EFL fans can watch their favourite club over 20 times throughout the season”. Although I suppose there is likely to be some degree of selectivity as the season progresses and games with play off/ relegation implications are given greater focus?

Roughly £300pa to watch 20 games so £15 per game (first year, thereafter £20 per game). Currently £10 per game to stream, from overseas. Not a huge hike in price year 1 but it all depends on what the extra £cost provides. For me that is the key. The add-ons, even if they are extended highlights, would be good and not the 2/3 minutes we get now. Could tip the balance.

Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be subscribing beyond what I've already on Sky which is all the sports channels, but if this is above that, see ya!
I want to go to more away games next year anyway so not such an issue really.

Sky Sports + is included in the normal Sky Spirts subscription at no extra cost. www.skygroup.sky/en-gb/article/introducing-sky-sports-giving-more-choice-to-sports-fans-via-live-streams-and-a-new-dedicated-channel-at-no-extra-costSky Sports+, giving more choice to sports fans via live streams and a new dedicated channel, at no extra cost
Once live, customers with a full Sky Sports subscription won’t need to do a thing; Sky Sports+ will simply drop into the existing Sky experience, across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW.

So, how much does it cost. Is it per game or a season contract. I don't like or trust SKY because of previous dealings. Looks like its end of me watching Orient. I normally only make a couple of live games now

I really hope the options for watching live games one way or another isn’t scuppered by a deal that doesn’t provide value for money. Don’t mind paying a fair price for a reasonable product. But I won’t be ripped off.

I normally only make a couple of live games now Now TV can be as little as £15/month with an email offer. Three friends of mine share it and pay £7/month with boost which allows multiple streams and better quality HD pictures. I get it for £7.20/month from Virgin, but you have to get your broadband/TV with them as well.

Update for forrins. From my understanding, nothing will change except a few strange kick-off times. I expect the £170 annual fee may go sky high.

I think the current price is great value but with everything else getting more expensive too the likelihood of even the slightest increase is a worry.

Note - of those 16 games a few will be midweek evening games. Last year 6 of the initial games were midweek with 5 games on public holidays. Then add the 3 international breaks, the opening and closing weekend and that accounts for 16. And 20 games is the minimum, so should Orient be involved in promotion/relegation impacting games from March onwards, they would have a few games rescheduled. Likewise if Orient are in games where they or opposition play in cup matches at weekend.

Just had a read of the Q&A published on the website... In relation to the international streaming (below), seems to suggest that 'where matches are not being streamed exclusively' O's fans can stream as normal, but my reading of the below statement would be that if the game is on Sky (and 20 will be on Sky) then it wont be streamed to overseas fans??? Am I reading that right? Hopefully, all games will be streamable - I only missed 2 last year, it's a great service.
'Orient Live will continue in its current capacity for overseas fans. Orient and other EFL clubs will be able to continue international streaming services direct to fans overseas, where matches are not being broadcast exclusively, enabling those based abroad the chance to watch their team’s matches throughout the whole season'.

I think in previous seasons the club haven’t been able to stream fa cup games due to the broadcast deal with however was showing them in the uk (bbc?). I think (hope) they mean the same situation will apply going forward and it’ll only be some cup games they can’t steam overseas.

I don’t subscribe to Sky, but did use Orient Live on occasions, cold/wet Tuesday nights for example. The deal won’t keep me away from Saturday’s, as it’s the whole day experience, but I can see our attendance figures dipping overall, if it’s easier for some to access Sky. Saying that, if we are successful on the pitch, the fans will continue to flock to the ground.

I will subscribe to whatever is necessary to see up play. Retired from most home Games from next season, reduction in travel, tickets, sundries will save me well over £1k for home games, more than enough to cover Sky/nowTV. But I want to be sure we feature enough to make that worthwhile. Featuring means enough live games and when not live, decent highlights programs.

Just listened to the excellent Orient Hour but still not clear what the new EFL deal means for exiled O's... Mark Devlin talks of the Pre match and half time shows kicking on, but I don't think we have 100% confirmation that all League and Bristol Motors trophy games will be streamed as they have been to date to an o/s audience... Wait and see I guess

Wait and see I guess Exactly that I think. The club can’t talk about what they don’t know or are not allowed to say. Maybe Sky are hoping for a rush of new customers before the limited games on display per club becomes clear. One thing for sure, I won’t be signing up to any service until I know what’s on offer. Plenty of time yet. Hopefully enough games live to make a subscription worth while.

Good news 😁 www.cordbusters.co.uk/virgin-media-ee-tv-sky-sports-plus/Sky Sports+, the upcoming streaming-based expansion of Sky Sports, won’t be limited to just Sky subscribers. We can now confirm that the newly announced service, set to launch in August 2024, will also be available to Virgin Media and EE TV customers who have access to Sky Sports through their respective platforms.
