A few days ago here in Australia Mr D Beckham was seen on a tv advert sitting in a tailored suit on a double bed. It was a short advert he said nothing but got up with the traditional smug smile ( a bit like Clooney does with the coffee advert ).
Does our friend David from Chingford need extra cash ? Would it prompt anyone to buy that make of bed?
Amazing in a world of consumption some people just cannot stop their income and others just cannot earn sufficient funds to live.
I assume he still doing his charity work to ensure the Knighthood will be forthcoming some day.

Seen the ad in the U.K. too. Not too sure I agree with big stars doing adverts, better let the less well known get some air time and money. But I assume their name helps sell by promoting brand awareness. People talk about it so I guess it works.
Also keeps these people in the public eye so assume that is more important to,them than the income.
My mistake. Beckham was advertising crisps.

Anything product advertised by David Beckham would for myself have a detrimental effect and straight away put me off buying it !!

For a Leytonstone lad I believe Beckham has done himself his family and his country proud.

Beckham has done well and joined a whole host of rich and famous on the advertising trail
Clooney - coffee, Samual Jackson - bread, Arnie - supermarket and so on. Easy money and keeps their profile high.

Stamford Hill had a decent Ten-pin bowling alley. There and Tottenham Royal were my places of choice for an evening out. If I wanted real excitement it was the Hammersmith Palais. The occasional fair along Lea Bridge Road always good for a laugh. Simple pleasures at the time.

Leyton baths was my haunt and at times the Walthamstow Assembly Hall. The Town Hall and Assembly hall built in the beautiful Art Deco style. To this day both in the sunshine take the breath way with their beauty.

A geezer in the Mead opposite my house got a job for the two weeks of the fair in Debden,he ripped his shirt sleeves off to the shoulder to look authentic, this was in the fifties. He went by the name of Chucky Alnutt.
