A 17 year old m Bobby Fisher and a debut for an 18 year old Laurie Cunningham. I was too young to be taken to Upton Park so I’ve never seen this game nor footage till tonight! When Brian Moore said this is Laurie’s debut I literally had goosebumps all over my body. He was and still is my favourite O and in my opinion the best player I’ve ever seen play for us. What a find this video has been.
I hope some more of you can enjoy watching it or even reliving that day all over again.

A stat no-one seems to remember is that we were on the big match 3 Sundays running back in Aug 1974.

Such a young looking Laurie and Bobby,didn't we have a great team then that played in the great George Petchey style.
Followed the career of Laurie all his short life,I have 4 pictures of him about my house.Say hello to his statue every matchday and when I go to the Orient shop.It warms the cockles of my heart when I see supporters home and away having photos taken under his statue,I have also seen many dads lift their child so they can touch the ball or Laurie.
