I joined it ages ago and totally forgot until they made the announcement today tbh. Seems like it'll be pretty handy for club news if they keep it regular.

I've been waiting for this so I could ditch twitter and be off of the socials for good!

The channel has actually been live for months, just not been used.
I subscribed ages ago.

Yeah today was the first posting so looking forwards to what it delivers as I'm not on any social media as I don't believe in it.

Interesting that so many people want away from social media these days. I certainly get that although we (lofcwomen.com) plug in to them all but only to tell people that we have a website. Would you folks agree that a non-interactive website, no login, no need to sign up nor give your email address, is NOT social media? I'd be very interested in your views.

I just downloaded WhatsApp to follow the club’s postings. I have never used it before. I use social media largely for work, but really avoid it other than Orient related material for fun. Would YouTube count as social media? I never really chat on it, but I do use it often and it has some of the features of social media.

The fact you run your website like you do will over time encourage more people to visit especially as the team grows and progresses. You might want to have a tag line or something saying we don't store cookies etc etc highlighting the positives of visiting as against harvesting data which is what everyone else is doing.

Thanks for posting this, I didn’t even know there was a women's team website ! I always try and follow the teams’ fortunes but can’t always find the info. I have saved the link to my home page. Agree that all means should be used to improve the awareness of the team and its achievements.

no what your doing is correct in that you need to be on them all as that's what people want and or expect to be reached on their platform of choice. I disagree. You need to look at where you can be most effective. Where is your audience? What sort of content are you able to produce and produce well? For example, if video isn't your strong suit and you're not targeting gen z, then TikTok is probably a waste of your time. Fact is Fisch and LOFC Women aren't on all social channels and it would be hard to make a case for a lot of them. Snapchat? Threads? Mastodon? Building a following from scratch is difficult and time consuming. Spreading yourself too thin doesn't help anyone.

Thought I'd joined but it doesn't seem to be on my contact list 🤔 Same here Ron. It's not a "group' as I understand it so l have no idea if I'll get updates or have to go searching for them.

Chat Updates Communities Calls I've checked my sons iPhone 15 and his is the same with settings on that bar as well. It's under the updates tab or button is where you will see the Orient what's app group. Look again and see what's on your phone at the bottom of the screen. Not in a message but on the screen where you can see your lists of messages to and from people

There does appear to be another culture shift on the horizon in regards to Social Media (generally classified as Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, YouTube, but not limited to).
Personally I'm just struggling for time at the moment.

I haven't joined this as I'm not too keen on the possibility of other members of the 'channel' having access to your mobile number.
For those that have joined is that a thing?
