I wish we could play a friendly against a Premier league team We used to, but havent for some time now I cant see the point of playing friendlies against s***ty little non league teams.....there's no value in it, and the risk of injured players is always there I agree about playing some premier league/championship giants..I don’t agree about the “s***ty little non league team” bit though 😏

Alfresco The value is getting your team match fit against the lesser teams.

Updates added to the opening post of all confirmed games. The Premier league game will be behind closed doors and the team concerned will not be announced either. Highlights and interviews will be released after the game.

Probably Spurs ladies 😉 I wonder what the injury list will look like after these "friendlies" playing on varying surfaces with some gung ho opponents. Those with the mentality of Marlon Brando character in on the waterfront, the washed up boxer "Charlie I could have been a contender". Players who have missed the boat as regard their playing careers and want to prove a point.

Those with the mentality of Marlon Brando character in on the waterfront, the washed up boxer "Charlie I could have been a contender". Players who have missed the boat as regard their playing careers and want to prove a point. Or want to impress a professional club. The thought of preseason injuries is always a concern but games need to happen. A necessary evil. But your assessment of risk is quite correct. I’ve seen it first hand, with players trying to prove a point against better opposition.

Added in the friendly in Spain.
The O's will take on Juventud de Torremolinos on Thursday, July 25, as part of our pre-season training camp in Spain.
The tour to Southern Spain, sponsored by Gaughan Group, will see the O's take on their Spanish counterparts at 7.30pm local time, as Richie Wellens and his side look ahead to the 2024/25 Sky Bet League One campaign.
The fixture will take place at Estadio Municipal El Pozuelo, Torremolinos, Andalusia.
All Orient fans are welcome to attend the fixture, with ticketing information along with a possible live stream for the fixture, and details of a fan meet and greet will be announced in due course.

Nice way to get ready for the coming season, plenty of away players to look at and many trialist will be given a chance. So a good selection of pre-season games. Comes the first League game we up the ante.Come on O's and stuff the moaners.

And our lack of depth pointed out by moaners cost us. Oh and the January transfer moaners got it right too ultimately ruining our playoff hopes. But history won’t repeat itself, will it. RW and NT both say so. Look forward to a strong fully fit squad, with depth, enjoying a decent preseason. Let’s see if we have learnt anything. Hope so. Get boring when the moaners are right.

If the board were looking at establishing themselves in League 1 and finishing mid table, they got it right didn’t they?

When NT says we gotta move quicker, the clues are there.

The "we're gonna get relegated" moaners are a very different faction to the "we should be winning two promotions in a row" moaners.
