He would be starting on the back foot that's for sure. His record so far is poor and maybe with a proper pre season and getting the team understanding what he wants he might succeed.
Birmingham fans said he came in and changed everything straight away and the style he wanted to implement the players were not capable of playing.
His name is getting him jobs. Can't see him getting anymore if he fails this time should he be appointed.

Can't see him getting anymore if he fails this time should he be appointed. Wayne Rooney is expected to be confirmed as the head coach of Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Saturday after holding talks about the vacancy. Rooney, 38, is keen to re-establish his reputation after a disastrous spell at Birmingham last season, when he lost nine games out of 15. Argyle are looking for a new boss after the dismissal of Ian Foster towards the end of last season.
Getting jobs are often down to ''not what you know but who you know'' and here is the clue...............''Director of football Neil Dewsnip and coach Kevin Nancekivell took over for the remainder of the campaign and guided Plymouth to safety, ironically at Birmingham’s expense. Dewsnip knows Rooney from his time as a coach at Everton’s academy''

Clearly if they had taken the path of Cesc Fabregas at Como in Italy they would be learning the profession from the ground up. Fabregas is staying at Como as he is still to qualify with his coaching qualifications. A welshman Roberts has taken charge at Como while Fabregas finishes his training.

Lampard and Rooney both went at too a level high right from the start. Lampard but seems quite smart and should try again learning his trade with a lower league team but both of these men are already multi millionaires so cant see either of them wanting to start managing low level league teams. Anyway, I dont think Rooney is cut out to be a higher league football manager.
