Watching England is just stressy stuff that we all don't need in our lives Must admit I felt it when we were doing penalties.

We seem to play a formation which isolates Kane. Not buying it. He's had opportunities to make an impact but looks like he's wearing concrete shoes. Was gonna say bring Toney on but he just did. Kane is Southgate's ''undroppable'' England Player. Trippier much the same as well.

He is our record goal scorer, he's just bagged 40 odd goals for Munich, we are asking him to do things he shouldn't be doing. People go on about his pace, he never had pace when he was with us! You need to deliver him balls in and around the box and he will score its that simple. How much chances in the last 5 games he had? 2 maybe 3? Pele wouldn't have done any better the way we play now.

Thor, I was having the same discussion with my brother who was critical of Kane. I said that he is isolated up the front and could wait a lifetime before he gets a decent cross or pass. I think we have been extremely fortunate to have progressed to the semis and that it was mainly by virtue of the draw we were in. We haven’t played a ranked team yet and have looked dire in every match, barely having a shot on target. This is the most boring negative England side I can recall and that’s despite us having some decent players.

Last night Jason Cundy on talksport said "his job is to win games, he's doing that. It's to do well in tournaments, he's doing that, 3 semi's and a final in the last 4 tournaments proves that. When was the last time we've been this consistent? Now the football at present isn't good, but neither is anyone else playing well as everyone with the exception of Spain are playing safety first football. He is being very single minded and driven to deliver England to the big stages and you can't argue with that. We just want to see a more expansive game, but he just wants to win and he's doing that" Thats a fair comment actually. We'd love England to play to their potential and wipe the floor with teams as we should have done and are capable of, but old Southgate just wants to win and if he does that I swear this little England will actually bounce out the sea. We go again.

The Croatian manager Dalić was a TV pundit here for this game and was very complimentary about the Engleze. He said they will not be tempted to come forward in numbers until they decide the right moment. It looks like they are struggling but they are not, the Swiss did everything to spread out the English formation but their attempts were completely ignored. This Southgate knows what he's doing.

The England game seemed to last for about four hours, but the next semi just flew by. Is it really all about winning at all costs or do you want to be entertained? I won't celebrate if we end up champions playing such depressing football, wouldn't pay money to watch it either.
Some of the best games I saw last season involved Atalanta in the Europa League. Attack from the start and then carry on when they go one up, unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen were destroyed in the final.

Really ? We only started to play once the Swiss had scored, then panic changes of attacking players were brought on, we scored via a piece of individual skill by man of the match Saka, and got through by the skin of their teeth via a penalty shoot out. Trippier once again played out of position at left back and it has taken until this game for Southgate to realise that Foden is out of position when played out on the left wing, something that was so obvious that all the fans knew where his best position is, in fact everyone knew apart from Southgate !

You'd think almost anyone else there might create some chances for Harry too.

it was Dalić who is saying that Southgate knows what he's doing. I'm less than convinced.

kane is not the issue it's the tactics which are not getting the best out of him. He's not the issue but he is an issue. His touch is gone and he's struggling to hold the ball up. If he's not getting chances, a big part of that is attacks breaking down when he's on the ball. He's always looked tired at the end of the season and it's hardly getting better as he gets older. If Southgate was taking over the team now I think he'd drop Kane like he once did Rooney.

On a more positive note, I think the formation was an improvement. Thought we looked in control until the Swiss made a couple of changes (which Gareth was too slow to react to, granted). I think we need to look past the name of the opposition and acknowledge that this is a very good Switzerland team. I didn't fancy our chances at all, but here we are.

England haven't played well for about 18 months in fact the last time England played like a team that could win a title was when they beat Scotland away in a friendly.Since then England have been poor. This England team playing under Southgate cannot beat Spain or France unless one of those teams have a man sent off.I hope I'm wrong
