I have two chippies near me, one charges £2.50 and the other £3.50 both are good quality, but I remember when a kid chips were 10p!! Remember the sign above the cauldron of hot dripping around October stating We are now frying new potatoes. Was never as good as old ones.,very limp and tasteless. That is an interesting memory. I think I can recall similar as well e.g ''now frying new potatoes'' but unlike yourself I cannot recall the difference between the taste of fried old and new potato chips !

I certainly don’t remember anything. A 10 year old I barely remember the games I did go to. Burnley being the first I recall, and then not much. Peanuts, tanner a bag is about it. I also went to that game Leyton Orient Vs Burnley in the FA Cup 4th round replay 06 February 1962, Os so unlucky to lose 1-0. I also remember it was my first ever Os game and I still have the match programme. There are still programmes from that match for sale on Ebay, they go for around £3 to £4. At that time, Burnley were one of the very best teams in Division one !

Orient had a lovely little programme for 1961/2,but in our only season in the top flight 62-63 it was dreadful, all adverts. I also like the little ones from 67-70.And once again on promotion a dreadful 1970-71 effort. We shared the same printer as palace. They had little progs like us
