On reflection if a player is signed after the pre season commences it not the end of the world as the player hopefully would of asked their club to be part of their pre season training
There is more of a risk if the player is a non contract player and they have not made any training arrangements at any club to get fit and are forced to train alone running and gym work.

RW made a big deal about the reasons for our poor start last season and its eventual impact on our whole campaign. If he feels a positive preseason for the squad is that important then I ain’t going to argue. Added to this both he and NT have commented on getting things done earlier.
But all is not lost. We still have time and I’m sure players looking for clubs are keeping fit. The recruitment committee will have chosen their targets carefully and possibly the type of quality player in demand at other clubs. So maybe we need to wait.

Maybe now is the time to mention again that approximately 10 days ago at the AGM , Travis said explicitly that regarding transfers he expected to see “ a lot of news in the next two or three weeks”. If that’s correct then it’s a reasonable assumption that things should start surfacing soon. ☕️ 🕰️

It only becomes a problem to me if RW tells all of us in his interviews that again this season the lessons they learnt last season have not been eradicated particularly as even NT mentioned this in one or more of his interviews.

Im wondering who's left as RW always says 'I want quality'. We all have targets we'd like, mine are el miz & vigs on loans, but I'm not holding my breath. RW is a pressure cooker of a person,we must keep him sweet at all costs.who could we replace him with?

If that’s correct then it’s a reasonable assumption that things should start surfacing soon. ☕️ 🕰️ I’m sure that is the case red. Behind the scenes activity will be intense and NT will know that, he sees what we don’t. Ive always believed the signings will happen and most in good time for the season to start. Wrexham made their first signing 2 days ago (good one too) and they have the cash and the glamour. Other clubs too have made their first signings in the past few days. So activity is only just starting to hot up bar a few who have been active for some time. It will happen because it has to happen. It’s just not acceptable for RW to be making the same comments next season as he quite correctly said last time. Be good to get the TJ, RS situation sorted as well, one way or the other. in the meantime having a little fun is OK. Brightens up an otherwise dull part of the footy year.

The trick being the club needs to make damn sure that problem doesn’t happen. We know the problem and we know the solution. Failure is not an option. We will be OK. My confidence is very high. in the very unlikely event we screw up then RW will have every right to be angry and no doubt consider invoking a contract release clause, it will exist. The stakes are high, we will not fail. We will be ready.

I think pre season would probably start 1 July with maybe some pre monitoring next week sometime. We are off to Spain 21/7, as Red pointed out NT said 2/3 weeks to see some activity. Our first friendly is 9/7 All football contracts run till 30/6
In my mind we will not see any new players till after 1/7 and we have a 2 week window to get our business done and meet RW desire to have everyone on the plane. ML needs to get himself charged up and flying now. Why we delay and procrastinate is beyond me, we suffered last year and I’m gonna be positive and say it will be better this year. Saying that we are already slower than last year in getting a player in the door!

?? We ended a first season back at this level mid-table. We were pushing for the playoffs at one point. Bar Pigott, all our summer signings looked good in spite of injuries. Things could've gone better, sure, but it's hyperbole to say we suffered. It was a good season.

Leicester City being Champions was amazingly good In retrospect though we did well it is clear that with one or two better judgements the play offs and additional income was well within our grasp. I think RW feels the same based on comments. Not too sure our january signings were that great. Pigott and the two loanees hardly made any impact on an already under pressure team. Not too sure our preseason and league start contributed very much either. What matters is that we learn from very avoidable situations. Going to be even tougher this season

Things could've gone better, sure, but it's hyperbole to say we suffered. It was a good season. I should have clarified, apologies. I used suffered meaning we suffered at the beginning of the season as we had an injury hit squad, players not fit as they arrived later in the window. Overall we had a good season which I've said previously, but now we can look back we can see how much that start cost us in terms of points and lost players through injury.
